Men are so easy to buy for…. said no woman ever. When it comes to Father’s Day, I struggle every year.
No matter how well I know the men in my life, trying to fathom what they actually want for a gift without asking them, is pretty much impossible at times. I either need an encyclopaedic knowledge of tools to know which ones they don’t have, or to know what on earth they all do – or psychic powers.
Possibly because the men in my life are pretty great, they ask for nothing. They aren’t demanding at all…. damn them. I honestly wish they would be a little more demanding – I instantly regret even thinking that, as I know Si will read this and use it as an excuse to ‘demand’ copious amounts of cups of tea….
This year I have already given Simon’s Dad a lovely Father’s Day hamper, but I still need to buy for Simon himself (he may not officially be a Dad, but to my boys he is an amazing one – the best in fact) and for my own Dad. I think my own Dad may be swamped in pairs of sock and mugs from lots of years of last-minute presents from me.
Still he may actually prefer that to the year that I ‘gave’ him money in a card…. well I gave him a sealed empty card, as I forgot I had borrowed the money back out of the card.
If you are as stuck for ideas as me, then you should probably check out Into The Blue. What better gift can there be, than the gift of an experience? Basically the gift of fun and memories… I’m sold.
Into The Blue have a competition running at the moment as well, so you could get a real bargain of a Father’s Day gift. All you have to do is go take a look around the Into The Blue website, choose an experience for your Dad (or any Dad that you know) that you know they would love.
Then tweet or comment Into The Blue on Facebook or Twitter telling them what experience you have chosen and why. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #experiencedad and you could win the experience for your Dad, plus a £100 gift voucher for yourself! Two runners-up will also receive a £50 gift voucher each.
For more information on the competition and terms and conditions, pop to the Into the Blue blog. The competition closes at 12pm on 16th June 2016.
I think I would probably choose the hot air balloon experience for Si or my Dad… partly as one of them could take me with them ;)
There really are a ridiculous amount to choose from though, whether you think your Dad might love to try a bit of archery from the back of a horse (yes really), fly a plane or maybe even enjoy a bit of pampering, then Into the Blue have the gift with an extra wow factor for you this year.
