Photos of Cornwall with Wellies on the School Run

Today’s new addition to my photos of Cornwall section is the lovely Gail of Wellies on the School Run. I knew that Gail’s photos would be beautiful, as I’m a little bit in love with her Instagram feed, you should definitely check it out.

What brought you to Cornwall – if you don’t live here?

We visited Cornwall for a family holiday in our campervan back in the Summer of 2015. It took us 14 hours to make the journey from our home in the far north of Scotland, but it was worth it. We had a wonderful holiday and made memories to treasure always. In many ways Cornwall is very similar to where we live, just with more people and slightly better weather!

Where is your favourite place in Cornwall?

We visited lots of lovely places during our ten day stay in Cornwall but my favourite attraction had to be the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The gardens were just magical and we were lucky to visit when the weather was really good.

What camera/mobile phone do you usually use for your photos?

Most of the photos on my blog are taken with my trusty iPhone 7, but I do have a Nikon D3200 which I am trying to get into the habit of using more!

If you could take a photograph of anyone or anywhere in the world, where or who would you choose?

I would love to take a photograph of a killer whale. At certain points in the year they can be seen from the coastline close to where we live. I’ve never managed to be in the right place at the right time to see one, but it’s on my bucket list to see and photograph an Orca just once!

Describe Cornwall in a maximum of three words:

Picturesque, friendly, quaint.

Pasty or Cream tea?

Cream tea, definitely!

If you could be anywhere in the World right now doing anything, what would you be doing and where?

I’m a bit of a homebird and I actually love being right here in the Highlands of Scotland. But if I could go on a holiday somewhere different, it would be back to Italy, where my husband and I spent our honeymoon. It’s such a beautiful, romantic and interesting place.

Please tell me a random fact about you?

As well as blogging, I love writing poetry and fiction – basically I love anything to do with words. I actually tried writing a book when I was a teenager, but thankfully I didn’t get very far with it – looking back now, it was pretty awful!

Thank you Gail, I love your photos as usual! Scotland is very high up on my wish list of places to visit in the future, it’s obviously the same trek for us as for you in reverse. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are also one of my favourite places and only around 15 minutes from our home.

If you would like to take part in Photos of Cornwall, then drop me an email at acornishmum@aol.com and I will tell you what you need to do. You don’t need to be a blogger or a professional photographer, it is open to anyone who wants to share their love of Cornwall.

Gorgeous photos and I have camper van envy, it’s our dream to have a camper van. But on the plus side, I took some nice photos of orcas when I was in NZ ;)
