Plan Our Date Subscription Box Giveaway

Our review of the Plan Our Date subscription box service and a special rafflecopter competition for my followers.

Plan Our Date

When Si and I first got together, my boys were four and six. This means that right from the start of our relationship, it hasn’t just been the two of us. Don’t get me wrong, I certainly don’t resent not having much alone time with Simon, at all.

Six years in to our relationship, I love how close he is to the boys and they all really love each other. Being male and of a certain age (all three of them ha), it is rare they’ll admit this in words, but it shows very much in actions and more.

It is nice sometimes though, just doing something for us. I was recently sent a special subscription box from Plan Our Date. This was for a night just for us, to spend time together having fun.

Plan our Date subscription box contents

In my box was the following:

Metcalfe’s skinny sweet ‘n salt popcorn

 3 winners tokens

 Two canvases for art work

 Two paint brushes

 Two pencils

 A set of paints

 Love heart sweets

 Two Yorkshire tea bags

 Two After Eights chocolates

 Plain flour

 Baking powder

 Caster sugar

Two portions of Lyle’s golden syrup

Two Who Knows Who? question sheets

Instructions on how to find the free Spotify playlist to go with the box

Instruction Manual

We had our ‘date night’ at home in relative peace, having sent the boys upstairs to watch a film in bed. I set everything out ready and mostly followed the instructions in the booklet.

Plan our Date popcorn paints and more

I say mostly, as the ingredients such as the flour were for making pancakes. Si doesn’t like pancakes, so I am saving that to do with the boys one morning for a yummy breakfast. The boys and I love pancakes.

The first part of our date night was to answer the Who Knows Who? questionnaires whilst listening to the Spotify playlist. I have to say several of the Spotify songs were lovely songs that I enjoy. There were a few that made me laugh a little though… including a song from Frozen.

Not having small children, I haven’t been tortured with the Frozen film and soundtrack like so many of my friends have. It did make me smile though, as I can imagine parents of small children quickly skipping past that one. There were a lot of old school songs on there and even some I hadn’t heard before.

The Who Knows Who? questionnaire game was hilarious, Si of course was a bit cheeky with his answers. He also won most of the tokens from the game, mostly in my opinion as I took the game more seriously! I do hate losing … We ate the love hearts and popcorn as we played it. The sweet ‘n salt popcorn is one of my favourite snacks.

As part of our date night, we also had to paint a picture of an activity that we enjoy doing together. This is mine. They have details in the box of an Instagram competition for the paintings you do, but I’m not sure mine will be winning any prizes.

My painting of a boat and a whale

We both love boat rides, especially if we can spot wildlife at the same time. The Cornish coastline is so beautiful from the sea. In fact if we won the lottery, straight after buying a big house a boat would most likely be next on the list!

We finished our night off with a nice cup of tea – pretty much the way all our evenings end. I’m not sure if that’s a Cornish thing or a getting old thing ha.

We really enjoyed our date night and it reminded us to turn the television and the laptop off for the night and just talk and laugh together without distractions. I think we all need to try to do that sometimes. This was the first ever Plan Our Date box, we really enjoyed it and I am sure future ones will be just as fun.

Plan Our Date boxes are a mystery each month, so when you subscribe you get an exciting and fun date night through the door. The Plan Our Date website has a lot more information on how it all works. It is a monthly subscription box, which usually costs £24.99 for a month, but is cheaper overall when you sign up for a longer subscription.

You can use the following discount codes if you want. FIRSTBOX: to receive your first box for just £9.99 or FIRSTMONTH: To get your first month free when subscribing to three months. You can cancel subscriptions easily according to the Plan Our Date site.

If you aren’t sure about committing, but want to have a taster of what it’s all about, you can actually now sign up for a trial box on their site. This is a smaller box that you just have to pay £2.99 postage to receive.

PLEASE NOTE that you will have to subscribe for a PlanOurDate subscription to receive your prize. You will be sent an exclusive voucher code which will cover the cost of three full month’s subscription boxes plus free delivery. You can cancel the subscription immediately afterwards if you wish, or continue with them if you are enjoying it as much as we hope! It is really easy to cancel.
