*This post is an entry for BritMums #MagicSquaresPlaydates Linky challenge, sponsored by Petits Filous and is about our play dates with Petits Filous.*
We are extremely lucky to live in Cornwall, and although my children are officially (apparently) too old for a lot of toys and activities that they find ‘babyish’ now, there is one place that will always make them act like two year olds and no better place for a ‘Play Date’.
Obviously this place is the beach! You can’t live in Cornwall and not appreciate or enjoy the beaches and sea around you, it really would be a waste not to. We love nothing better in the warmer months than coming home from school, getting changed quickly, grabbing a picnic I made earlier and some towels, and heading to the beach.
My children love Petits Filous, and of the ones I bought (with a voucher from Petits Filous thank you!) for doing this post, zero were left by the time I started typing, so I had to go and buy some more for the photographs! Petits Filous often makes up part of our picnics, as it’s one of the few types of ‘yoghurt’ that both boys will agree on. Probably one of the few things full stop on some days!
It’s still a novelty for me being able to buy dairy products for my eldest son, he has had eczema since he was one, and had to be completely dairy free for a number of years, but as he has gotten older and his skins recovered (apart from the occasional flare up) he has been able to enjoy dairy at last.
To him a Petits Filous is a real treat, since he wasn’t allowed them for so many years, and having the new ones to try was great. Neither boy could decide if they preferred the vanilla and strawberry ones or the raspberry and vanilla ones, they both decided I should buy them more often though!
When we get to the beach with our picnics, they boys usually eat as quickly as possible, and then abandon myself and Si to go and do some wave jumping. It doesn’t seem to matter to them how ridiculously cold the sea is, they still want to get in there. Obviously they don’t swim straight after eating, but then they are usually more interested in wrestling each other and getting as wet as possible!
The beach will always be our favourite place to play, where is your child’s favourite place to play, or yours?!
