Bedroom Swap – Duvet Covers Inspiration.

I love redecorating, and despite having worked very hard to get our bedroom exactly as we want it, I’m actually pretty excited that we have to undo some of this work. Our bedroom was not a pretty sight before we moved in (post coming soon to show the first before and after) and it needed to be completely made over.

I love our bedroom, but alas the boys are no longer small boys who can share bunk beds, Fin’s head will be touching the top bunk when he sits up in the very near future. This is why we have decided to swap bedrooms with them, as they are going to need separate beds and our room is bigger than theirs.

The upside to this is that they have gorgeous inbuilt wardrobes in their room, I get to redecorate and I get to choose pretty new things! I’ve started having a little bit of fun with mood boards, as although Si is resistant to starting the room makeovers until the garden and sheds are finished, I may as well be ready to get things exactly as I want them hey?

Today I have been looking at duvet covers, and not just any duvet covers but butterfly duvet covers. I love butterflies, and you can see below some of my favourites.

I suspect that the Debenhams and Very duvet covers will be too girly for Si and there will be no way I can talk him into them, and after all he does share the room with me. I suspect my best bets will be the Tesco one, which is very subtle colour wise, or the pretty duvet covers at Yorkshire Linen which is a little more man friendly in the colours as well.

Now to remind him that the light fitting in our bedroom that I convinced him to buy (it’s very girly!) and was a nightmare to put up, will need moving again when we move rooms. I’m really not sure the boys will want to keep the light with its gems when we make over their new room!

I suspect there will be a lot of swearing like there was when he first put it up ;) The Yorkshire Linen and Very ones were ridiculously well priced as well!

So pretty — I love butterflies.

Although funnily enough I’m a real ‘white-bedlinen’ kinda gal!! We have colourful throws on al the beds and some of the sheets are floral or gingham in the guest rooms, but our room is very plain! Thanks so much for linking up with #HomeEtc x

Ooh coloured throws sound like a good idea, I’m pretty sure if I add too many cushions into the mix he may rebel though ;)

Thanks lovely, it’ll be a challenge when we do get to start, as I love our room as it is but they really do need more room now they are getting older! I have to wait til the outside is finished before we start indoors (boo)

That Tesco one is lovely. It’s a bit like the Asda Home one I have on my bed! Good luck selecting the one you want. Thanks for linking up – much appreciated. Jess x #HomeEtc
