Day ten of my Christmas Shopping Giveaways and today you have the chance to win a fun game Googly Eyes from University Games.
I tried playing Googly Eyes when I went to BlogOn earlier this year and because it was so much fun I agreed to try it out at home and run a giveaway competition for my lovely readers. See how nice I am to all of you?
Inside the Googly Eyes box you get:
1 Game Board (which is lovely and colourful)
4 plastic playing pieces
1 pair of wacky glasses
1 set of green lenses (these are the easy ones)
1 set of yellow lenses (the medium difficulty ones)
1 set of blue glasses (the crazily hilariously difficult ones)
1 plain dice with a sticker sheet for you to pop the numbers etc on as seen below.
1 drawing pad
54 cards (these have 162 challenges on and time limits)
The whole aim of the game with Googly Eyes is to work your way around the board and be the first team to reach the finish. Googly Eyes should be played by 4+ players in teams but, the three of us (myself and the boys) played it and tweaked the rules a little bit to make it work. To be honest we often make up our own rules to games anyway ha!
You work your way around the board by rolling the dice to see how many moves you can go forward. The colour that you land on tells you which challenge on the card you need to do and also which colour lenses you’ll need to wear in the glasses. The blue ones really are hilarious as you can barely work out where the notepad is, let alone draw anything vaguely sensible.
Although, my ‘farm’ this time was better than when I drew farm at BlogOn and drew a really dodgy looking chicken. My horse actually looks a bit like a horse. The more you play the game, the better your drawing gets – ish.
The numbers on the card above are the amount of seconds that you have to draw and that the other members of your team get to try to guess what you are drawing, this is what the timer in the box is for. Thankfully you get longer for the harder ones! If your team guesses correctly you get to roll the dice again.
Harley was somehow a pro at drawing with the glasses on, we suspect there was some cheating going on but have yet to prove it. We had so much fun playing this game.
I didn’t win, I rarely seem to when playing against the boys at anything any more other, than at any game where age and experience is on my side for a change! That does make me feel slightly old.
Googly Eyes is one of our favourite games now, mostly just for how much laughter it involves – even if a lot of it is at how ridiculous we all look in the glasses and how bad our drawing is.
If you would like to buy your own Googly Eyes board game you can find it for sale on Amazon (Affiliate Link), Argos, Toys R Us and more. You can also try to win your own Googly Eyes game via the Gleam widget below.
