Places to see Father Christmas in Cornwall
For those with younger children, seeing Father Christmas is one of those heart warming traditions that most parents that I know love. I am so jealous of those doing it this year since my children are a little old. Although to any children reading this over their parent’s shoulders He is DEFINITELY real.
So here is a small selection of places to go and visit Father Christmas in his various grottos as he travels around the county. Also peep in the other sections of this post as some of the fairs and days out places have the jolly man himself in attendance. I have just listed below the name of the place, which if you click it will take you to the website of each place where you can get up to date information and check whether those with limited numbers are sold out or not, to avoid disappointment.

Winter fun days and nights out in Cornwall for everyone.
Even the older children and adults who don’t wish to sit on Father Christmas’ knee can have some wintery Christmassy fun in Cornwall this year. Why not try some of the following?
Ice Skating at the Eden Project and well as various activities and seasonal fun there.
Chaos Farm (Camills Farm) near to Veryan Truro has a bit of a different experience for Christmas that sounds a lot of fun. You can actually bake cookies with Mrs Claus in her country kitchen, meet and feed Santa’s Reindeer, help the elves make Christmas crafts, explore CHAOS Farm’s Winter Wonderland and get to meet Father Christmas in his workshop. How’s that for a festive fun?! If you would like more information on this and how to book, pop to the Chaos Facebook event page.
Heligan‘s Lantern Night. On Monday 5th December and Monday 19th December The Lost Gardens of Heligan hold their free Lantern Nights. With mulled wine, choirs, refreshments available to buy and the gardens lit beautifully with lanterns, I can imagine this is a pretty magical evening full of Christmas spirit.
You could enjoy the Saltash Christmas Festival on Saturday 3rd December, which if you check out their Facebook events page you will see has a lot going on. From a Christmas Fair to Santa’s grotto, fireworks and more.
Visit Mousehole to see their Christmas Lights – we go to Mousehole most years to see the Christmas Lights there. They are in my opinion the best in the county and there is always such a great atmosphere down there. A lot of the shops stay open late as do the chip shop and more. Really worth the trip, but be prepared to have fun with parking. If you can catch the bus there, then I would.
Shop for Christmas decorations at Trelawney Garden Centre near Wadebridge followed by hot chocolate with marshmallows in their cafe. Trelawney always have a huge amount of decorations and it always puts me in a Christmassy mood having a mooch around them.
Watch the Christmas Lights being switched on at various locations, you can see when and what’s happening around that on Cornwall Live or simply go for a drive around spotting Christmas lights, which is something we do every year.
Late Night Christmas Shopping in Cornwall.
