Days Out in Cornwall: Fireworks Night at Flambards

We were invited to Flambards this week for a day out and to watch their Fireworks display. They have fireworks on every week during the summer as well as in October at the end of the season.

The photo above was taken whilst we were there on Wednesday night. We arrived late in the afternoon, due to one of the boys having a hospital appointment. It didn’t matter though, because on fireworks nights the rides at Flambards stay open until 9pm.

I have been to Flambards so many times over the years, I used to go there with my Dad and my sisters when I was younger. I made a video when we went there last year. I also wrote about going there in 2015 and 2016.

This year there’s a new ride at Flambards, the Sky Force ride, which is actually pretty huge when you see it in person. It looks brilliant, but was so busy that we ended up not going on it. Not that we were being wimps or anything…

The boys both went on the Sky Raker ride this time, which they loved. In fact they went on there a few times. It really is so high up, they looked tiny all the way up there, but they were beaming when they got off!

For Si and I, although we do enjoy the rides and laughing at each other in the room with all the mirrors that make you look ridiculous, our favourite part of Flambards in the summer is the fireworks.

Well the fireworks and the food! The display this year was brilliant and thankfully this time I had enough charge on my phone to use my camera on it. Last year my phone died just before they started and I was so annoyed.

This year the fireworks were better anyway though, as the weather was a lot better and the wind pretty much non-existent. Last year the wind caused a lot of the smoke to blow our way, but this time the display really was so clear and bright.

I expect we’ll go to Flambards again next year, it’s a bit of a family tradition after all!

We were invited to visit Flambards for the fireworks and were provided with free entry, but I was not asked to write this post and all thoughts and opinions are my own and honest.
