22 of the best (in my opinion) family friendly films on Amazon Prime Video at the moment.

They are all films included with Prime membership, so there’s no extra fee for watching them if you’re a Prime member.
Aliens in the Attic
This is a PG, but would definitely be scary for very small children. It’s quite a fun family film though and my boys always loved the idea of being able to remote control an adult.
Annie (2014 version)
The modern-day version of Annie is brilliant and one of my favourites on this list.
The boys both loved the Goosebumps books and the films too. Definitely one for children unlikely to have nightmares or a life time fear of ventriloquist dummies afterwards though! You can rent the second Goosebumps film on Amazon Prime Video too for a bargain price at the moment.
The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child
These are only short, but they are so cute and if you’ve read the books with your children and they haven’t seen the films yet, they’ll love them.
Such a fun film and despite the ‘monsters’, there’s only a couple of bits that might scare especially small children.
This isn’t actually my favourite version of the Sow White story, but I do love that Snow White doesn’t need rescuing by a Prince, she does the rescuing ha!
Mr Bean’s Holiday
I have always loved Mr Bean and the boys found him hilarious when I introduced them to the programme and films.
The Lego Batman Movie
Personally I’m not a huge fan of the Lego films, but I’ve included The Lego Batman Movie as I seem to be in the minority and even my older boys enjoyed watching this one. There are also loads of other mini Lego films and tv series on Amazon Prime too, perfect for buying you a bit of peace on a rainy day.
The Cat in the Hat
I know it’s an old film, but I still love The Cat in the Hat, despite watching it loads of times over the years!
This one could definitely be a bit scary for small children and a lot of the humour in it will mostly be understood by adults, but it’s quite funny and it’s so clever how it’s been made.
Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo 2
Total cheese, but they aren’t a bad watch.
Watching this film may lead to requests for the Storks to bring your child a sibling or to conversations about where babies come from, it’s still a good film though ha!
Alvin and the Chipmunks and Alvin and The Chimpunks Squeakquel
Shaun the Sheep Movie
Transformers Dark of the Moon (12)
Obviously this is one for older children. I love all of the Transformer films, I think Bumblebee is my favourite character. It’s a shame that the rest of the Transformer films aren’t free on Prime, but you can still enjoy this one anyway.
Enders Game (12)
Paddington and Paddington 2
I absolutely loved the Paddington films when I watched them. The teens refused to watch it at the cinema with me both times, so I waited until they were on Amazon to watch instead. They’re really good and suitable for all ages including adults.
There are several other family films on Amazon Prime Video that you may like even if I don’t, since it is down to personal taste. If you can’t find films to watch, then there are loads of children’s television series included with Prime too, so you should be able to find something for the children to watch.
There are brilliant series for adults too if you can get enough peace to watch some! I mostly bought Amazon Prime for the free shipping, but all the films and tv series are a definite bonus!
