Getting Autumn Ready

*Collaborative post

Every year I read so many posts about getting ‘summer ready’, personally I prefer getting autumn ready!

Getting autumn ready

The change in weather recently, plus the nights starting to draw in again has made it feel like it’s already autumn and that’s not a bad thing really. I love autumn!

For once we’ve had a lovely long hot summer and personally I am more than ready to swap my sandals and flip-flops for cosy ankle boots. I’m already starting to see more autumn fashion making its way into the shops.

As cosy as it is to hibernate in big baggy jumpers and jeans, like I did last autumn and winter, this autumn I do want to make a vague effort to be a little bit more stylish. Here’s a bit of a mood board of the clothes from Fashion World that I am thinking of wearing instead.

autumn clothing

Instead of jeans, this year I am thinking that dresses with either leggings or tights underneath and ankle boots will be the look that I’ll go for. I love the womens dresses that are available from Fashion World. Especially the polka dot dress in my mood board, it’s even called the ‘Stevie’ dress ha! It’s clearly meant to be.

It isn’t just myself that I love getting autumn and winter ready. As soon as the summer weather starts to end, I find myself wanting to buy new fluffy blankets and cushions. I want to curl up with a book more, like¬†Ellie Oliphant is Completely Fine¬†which I bought recently and keep meaning to find time to read! Everyone I know seems to have read the book and loved it.

The mug below from Fashion World is pretty perfect for me according to Si.

I also keep trying to talk Si into buying a fireplace for the lounge. We don’t have an open fire, but I wouldn’t mind a fake fire with a gorgeous surround to be a bit of a feature in and our lounge and keep us cosy on the colder days. One of these days I’ll convince him, especially when I remind him that with the solar panels an electric fire would be ‘free’ to use during the day!

Autumn fashion + cosy blankets and cushions + a fire + coffee in a big mug + a book to read = the perfect autumn for me.

What’s your favourite season? Do you love autumn and winter as much as I do?
