LighterLife Fast 5:2 Diet Week Four


This week has been my final week of a four-week trial of the LighterLife Fast 5:2 diet. A diet where you eat normally but quite healthily for five days a week and then ‘fast’ for 2 days with LighterLife Fast products.


Whilst I have been doing the diet, I have also been taking part in a sponsored walking challenge for Type 1 Diabetes. The handy things about the LighterLife Fast diet has been, that I have been able to carry my lunch bar with me everywhere and my snacks. This meant that I could mostly resist the temptation of unhealthy food whilst out and about.

Taking the photo above, I did worry for a moment that I was going to end up sharing my lunch with the penguins at the zoo .. Each week I have found the fasting days easier and easier, as my body got used to me not eating so much food.


I won’t lie though and say that I have loved the fasting days, as I still spent part of them daydreaming about what I would eat the next day when I wasn’t fasting. I haven’t felt starving hungry though, I think the extra protein in the bars and other food helps with that. Plus the fact that you eat little and often.

They really do make the fasting days easier and I will happily continue to buy some of the snacks from now on. When I started the LighterLife Fast diet I was 11 stone 7 lbs and today I weighed in at 11 stone exactly, so in my four weeks of LighterLife Fast I have lost a total of 7 lbs.


This is the most that I have managed to lose in a long time, whilst I do think all the extra exercising has been a big part of this, any weight loss journey should involve exercise if possible really in my opinion. I also think LighterLife Fast is a great way to start off and boost a weight loss journey.


Being slightly skint at the moment, my next step will be to try the traditional 5:2 diet for a while and see how that goes, whilst using some of the Light Bite snacks and occasional LighterLife Fast FastPots.


I’ve found already having lost 7 lbs and exercising more, that I’m much more full of energy and confidence. I went to The Lost Gardens of Heligan again with my youngest recently and for once instead of watching him jump up and down off of the woodland play area, I joined in and loved it.


Part of the LighterLife Fast advertising campaign is about having an ‘I can do this’ attitude and I definitely think my attitude is changing more in that direction.

I still have a long way to go as officially I am still over weight and at 5 foot 2 I need to be losing at least another stone – if not more, but LighterLife Fast and my walking has given me a really good start.

    I need to get back on the 5:2 track, I did really well on it and was far easier to stick to than other diets. You’ll do just fine without the bars egg, the first weeks are the hardest and you’ve now 4 under your belt. X

    Well done, it sounds like it’s working for you! I like the idea of the 5:2 diet because you don’t have to give up things you love entirely!
