Every month I write my list of things I have liked and loved that month. This time it is the turn of July 2016, here’s the list of what has made me smile this month.
This actually happened last month, but not before I did my last Liked and Loved post. I went to London for the Britmums Live blogging conference. I can’t say that I learnt a huge amount there, as I didn’t go to a lot of sessions as most didn’t appeal to me – plus I wanted the chance to get to socialise with a lot of other bloggers as well.
I met so many bloggers, some whose blogs I hadn’t visited before and others who I felt a bit fan girl with. In particular Katie from Mummy Daddy Me, who is just as lovely in person as she seems on her blog.
I also got to meet Donna from What the Redhead Said who I talk to pretty much every day online, so it was just weird that we hadn’t met in person. I’ll tell you a bit more about the day and the people I met, if I ever get around to writing about it!
Whilst we were in the London area, we visited Warner Studios in Watford for a bit of Harry Potter geekery. I’m not sure who loved it more, me or the boys!
The lovely Lisa of The Love of A Captain and her fiance Trev welcomed a new arrival to their family a little while ago. We got to visit them in Newbury so we could meet baby Hudson for some squishy newborn cuddles and so the boys could play with Jack. Obviously we enjoyed catching up with the adults as well ;)
I suppose they can’t call him ‘Baby Jack’ anymore now he’s a toddler. He is such a cute little man, full of cheeky mischief and the boys love him.
My biggest boy unbelievably turned 12 this month. It only seems a short time since he was born! He had a couple of friends over for lunch at the weekend before his birthday and a nice relaxed birthday. He also loved all of his presents.
We have been on two boat trips in the last month, which have been fantastic! Both were from Falmouth, one of which was a review trip with Red Letter Days for whale and dolphin watching. This was a fast boat, which was great despite the weather being a little wet and rough. Just Si and I went on this one.
The second boat trip was for all four of us, and was a more relaxed trip up the Helford River. It was a hot sunny calm day and the views were stunning.
End of school
I love that it is now the school holidays and I can have more time with my boys. It would be perfect if Si was home too, but it’s still great to be able to do more together and not have to rush around in the mornings. Plus the lie ins, those I am especially loving.
Yet another blog makeover
I know it has only been a few months since my last blog makeover, but there were still some tweaks that I couldn’t get to work on a free theme. I bit the bullet and bought a theme from Pipdig and I am so glad I did. After customising it to how I wanted it with colours and whatnot, I am now so in love with the way that my site looks and works.
Hopefully this is my ‘forever theme’ now.
Things to look forward to
By far the experiences that blogging brings us are my favourite part of blogging. We get to do things we couldn’t otherwise afford and I have pencilled in within my diary two short staycations for us as a family and a night in a beautiful hotel over night just for myself and Si. All are review stays and I can’t wait.
Our new phone
Si only picked this up today, but it is so quirky. Red phones always make me think of Batman, and it even has a brilliant old-fashioned sounding ring. The only bit missing is that you don’t actually need to twirl the dialler bit around as you dial, I wish it did mostly to completely confuse the boys.
What was great about your July?
