What I Liked and Loved in December 2017

I’ve found it a bit harder to write this post this month. For a chunk of the month I was in a real funk mood wise and had no idea why or how to ‘snap’ out of it.

I have found that taking a Vitamin B12 and iron supplement has seemed to help or I just coincidentally started to feel better after a couple of days of taking it. Placebo effect? Possibly but, I am grateful for it.

Anyway, I am feeling so much happier now and I still had several things that I liked and loved in December regardless.

Lunch with one of my sisters

One of my older sisters and I had a lovely day shopping for last-minute Christmas bits and she treated me to lunch. We went to the Pizza Express in Truro and I had some of the best pasta that I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be going back there at some point.

Family Time

Family time is what Christmas is all about and we’ve actually had more than I expected, which I am grateful for. Si always has quite a lot of time off of work for Christmas but, this year just like many other years he’s had to spend a lot of time fixing his car and helping a good friend out. He’s been around a lot more than I thought he would be though and it has been lovely.

Christmas Day!

I would have to be a right Grinch to not put Christmas Day on this list. The boys loved all of their presents, Si’s Mum cooked a really yummy Christmas dinner. Bonus for me was no cooking really, as I made Christmas Day tea for everyone but, it was all pop in the oven stuff. We had a great day as a family and had a friend over too for part of the day. Thankfully me ‘perking’ up happened a few days before Christmas, so I didn’t ruin it by being a misery for no reason ha! I’m also still feeling so much happier generally, which is a relief.

Lazy sofa days with company

The downside to working from home is that you spend way way way too much time on your own. Which isn’t always a bad thing but, it has been so lovely to have company recently with everyone home. Though part of the reason for lazy sofa days has been that my poor eldest hasn’t been very well, though he is on the mend yay!

ALL the food

I may wait a few weeks to dare to weigh myself ha but, I have loved all the Christmas food again this year. It’s definitely one of the best parts of Christmas, I have no regrets … just tighter jeans.

Tickets to the Seal Sanctuary

We haven’t been yet but are hoping to next week after being sent tickets to visit by the sanctuary. I can’t wait, partly because the cabin fever will no doubt kick in soon but, mostly as I haven’t been there since I was a teeny child and I can’t remember much except that I liked it there. I’m looking forward to taking the boys to somewhere new in Cornwall and hopefully seeing some baby seals!

Bloggy Friends

I’m pretty sure I have added this a few times before but, I really do have some amazing blog friends. With special mention to Beth this time for keeping me sane recently and making me laugh and smile when I really needed to. She’s an absolute beaut.

What did you like and love about your own December?

Glad to hear you’re feeling better :) I bleddy love the Seal Sanctuary. I hadn’t been since school but took Jenson in the summer. It’s so nice to share places like this with your own children.

It’s those times when we need to count our blessings most of all. Glad to hear you’re feeling better.
