Liked and Loved – June 2016

Time for my monthly look back at all the things that I have liked and loved this month, this time for June 2016. I add this to my Ten Things/Liked and Loved linky, if any one would like to join in with that. It opens on the 25th of every month and closes on the 20th.

Liked and Loved June 2016

Here is what I have liked and loved this month…

My Britmums’ Sponsor

I know I mentioned this as one of my ten last month, but it is actually this month it is happening and I really am so grateful to the wonderful Bosinver Cottages for sponsoring me.

The boys loved our Butlin’s Minehead break over half term as part of my position as a Butlin’s Blog Ambassador this year and it was great to get away as a family. Plus we got to watch Diversity live and meet them briefly during the day! We’re hoping to go back with friends next year.

Getting new tyres and brake discs

This may seem like a weird thing to like, but driving to Butlin’s the scenic way we discovered my slight lack of brakes. The discs I had were awful when we looked at them, so I am very happy to be driving safely again.

Dunster Castle

We had a lovely day out at The National Trust’s Dunster Castle when we were in Somerset over half term. It was the first time we had visited and it was such a stunning place.

 Game of Thrones

We were late to join the Game of Thrones bandwagon, but after becoming a part of the NOW TV Blog Squad (click the badge in my sidebar if you want to know more about NOW TV), we binge watched hours and hours of it as we were slightly hooked. The new series now is brilliant and this weeks episode…. just wow, my favourite so far. I just love how unpredictable it is.

Treadmill Running

I used to be a lot fitter than I am now, after some pretty awful back issues for almost two years, that seem to have mostly resolved themselves in recent months, I am now working to build up my fitness again. This week I ran for the longest that I have in years on the treadmill and despite being a red-faced mess that could hardly stand up (I looked so pretty) I am very proud of that.

Now to keep on adding more time on and pushing myself even harder.

Weight loss

Butlin’s was amazing, but it did mean I put on 6 lbs …. basically all the weight that I had already lost through the use of Slimming World, but the combination of running and being back on plan has meant that I lost 7 lbs since we came back. I am now officially in my healthy weight range… just ;)

The new X-Men and Turtles films

I really enjoy superhero and action films, and any new one usually results in a trip to the cinema with the boys. We really enjoyed both of the films, and it is always great to go as a family to watch things that we all like.

 My new dress

I had no idea what to wear to Britmums this weekend, I kept wanting to be comfortable in jeans…. then I worried I’d be too hot, and in the end the decision was made for me. I found a Ralph Lauren dress in TK Maxx for £39.99, there was no way I could resist a bargain like that, plus I really do love the dress.

My usual style is more eBay bargains or cheap buys from the clothing section of a supermarket, so hopefully the slightly more sophisticated look will give me a confidence boost for the day. I am a teeny bit nervous!

What has been great about your June?

  • Rachel Bustin

My June has been getting a bit more organised and fitting in blogging bits round my adventurous 5 month old! Since she has learned to turn over she just seems to move herself around the room. Not on her front but by arching her back and digging her heels in!

It sounds like you are having a lovely June and of course you still have Britmums to go! Have a nice time! I will be waiting for your posts when you get back! xx

    Thanks for hosting #PicknMix

  • Kirsty

Looking back at June, it has been relatively quiet other than being busy at work. Although the next few weeks are really busy for us with family visits. Glad you had a good June #picknmix

  • Charlotte

Wow you have been able to fit in so much in June. I have also jumped on the Game of Thrones bandwagon and spent May catching up on all previous episodes. #picknmix

  • Mess and Merlot

Ooh lots of good things here- Diversity? Awesome, bet the kids loved that! Great work on the health kick, bet you’ll feel fab in your new dress tomorrow X #picknmix

  • laura dove

LOVE Butlins Minehead, it’s my favourite holiday for us all, we went there three years running until last year when we tried the Bognor Regis one and I really hated it, it just wasn’t Minehead! This year we are taking a break from Butlins and going down to Devon but I am slightly envious of anyone who is going, such a lovely place! #picknmix

  • wendy

What a fantastic month!I love that you got excited over new brakes!!That dress sounds like a great bargain and I hope you had fun at the Harry Potter Studios xx #picknmix

  • Rachel

Looks like a fab month! Go you with the treadmill…I am irrationally scared of them, I have seen to many videos of people falling off them…that’s my excuse anyway! #PicknMix xx

  • There's always time for tea

Well done on the running and on the weight loss! I’m gutted game of thrones is over for the year! I’m going to have to find something else to get engrossed in! I love the seagull in that photo, it made me laugh! Thanks for hosting lovely xx #Tenthings

  • Mummy here and there

We had our breaks and discs done last year. Eek! Glad you had a lovely time in Butlins and I love exploring castles they are such beaty about them. Congrats on the weight loss, I always find the hardest part is to get back on the wagon! #tenthings

  • Kat

Love Game of Thrones, gutted it’s over for another year, just need the next book now! We saw X-Men and loved it! Need to get down to Butlins again, Minehead is my favourite of the three parks and I love the beach there. #sharingthebloglove

  • Jaylan - Diapers at Dawn

Sounds like a busy and exciting month! The hubby has jumped on the Game of Thrones bandwagon as well so this has now become part of our evening viewing, he’s a little bit annoyed though as Sky has removed Season 5, so close and yet so far! Ralph Lauren for £39.99 bargain, got to love TK Maxx x #TenThings

  • Beth @ Twinderelmo

Congrats on the weight loss, doing so well!
I hope we get to go to Butlin’s together next time – toes crossed! Your sponsors website looks just amazing – what gorgeous accommodation. I watched the GOT finale and am intrigued what will happen, my husband is a mahoosive fan!

  • Katy - Hot Pink Wellingtons

Well done on the running! I used to be really fit, but kind of fell off the wagon in a big way in pregnancy (mainly due to being sick ALL the time!) and I’ve not really managed to consistently get back on. I really must sort that out! Thanks for no Game of Thrones spoilers too – I’ve watched it all apart from the latest series and it’s so difficult to avoid hearing all the spoilers! Thanks so much for linking up to #SharingtheBlogLove this week – I really hope you’ll be back!

  • Becster

Gah can’t stand Game of Thrones! Hubby is banished into the kitchen when he wants to watch it. Good on you for all the running! I really need to do something as I’m just becoming fatter everyday. Cutting back on the rubbish food would be a start!! Good luck with your weightloss! Oh and yes what a bargain that is! If you can be bothered to trawl through TK Maxx’s rails then occasionally you find a fab bargain like that! x
