Every month I write my monthly bucket list, mostly in the hope that it will keep me vaguely focused on the things I want to achieve each month. I do enjoy looking back and seeing how I have done and also being able to keep a track of my follower growth.
I am so pleased my lovely blogger friend Beth at Twinderelmo started this idea as a linky on her site. I have joined in right from the start and I should thank her for keeping me organised!
Here is how I got on with last month’s goals.
Increase my follower numbers and site views
At the end of June there had been 150,970 site views on my blog, there have now been 160,759 views to my blog since I started it in January 2015. I did my last Bucket List post a little late, so the actual total views for the month were higher than this shows and I am happy with them.
My Twitter was at 14751 followers and now I have 15224
My Facebook page was at 1877 likes, and now has 1949
Instagram was 9582 now 10,113
Pinterest was 4378 and now is at 4376 – The first ever drop, but I had a bit of a cull of who I was following on there, getting rid of a lot of spam accounts I had followed back being friendly without checking them out originally. Therefore I suspect there were some who unfollowed me back.
Youtube – I had 353 subscribers, and I now have 358 subscribers.
Tots 100 – Tots have just updated today, so handily I’m a day late to write and publish this ;) My blog is currently at it’s highest position of 23 in the Tots 100 index of parent bloggers. That’s 14 months in the top 200 now.
Work on my Pinterest
Well as you have read above, my follower numbers have actually gone down due to me culling my following list a lot this month. So far though, I have deleted some old rubbish boards, removed myself from some joint ones I wasn’t really using and have started sorting my pinnable images.
I’ve been a bit busy with sorting my new blog theme etc to concentrate on this as much as I wanted to though. My new theme makes it a lot easier for other people and myself to pin my images now though.
Run on the treadmill for at least 20 minutes in one go
I am up to 15 minutes, which I have managed a few times now so I am getting closer even if I have failed so far. Mostly it has been lack of time, but I will be working at this.
Get back on the Slimming World bandwagon
I have been a whole lot better with my eating recently and I am feeling better for it, I’ve also lost the weight I put back on from over eating, so a good step in the right direction.
Send my youngest off to camp properly equipped
Amazingly we managed not to forget a single thing and he had a great time, despite missing me loads apparently.
Give Fin a good birthday
Fin had a great birthday, and I managed to only be a teeny bit emotional about him turning 12.
I managed to get a lot of work done before the school holidays, and the rainy weather means I have managed to keep on top of everything blog wise so far as we haven’t been out much at all.
My August Goals
Increase my followers and views as always
Run for 20 minutes in one go on the treadmill – I’m not giving up on this one.
Work on my Pinterest a lot harder
Do a Youtube video – I keep wanting to do this, but chickening out. I’ve done a few before, but it isn’t something I am that comfortable with yet. I am determined I will try to make sure that I do one though. I suspect I just need to get on and do it and the confidence will come.
Give the boys a brilliant time over the school holidays
Go to the cinema at least once – we always go to the cinema in the holidays, as the boys and I love it.
Take the boys swimming – we haven’t been swimming in ages, and despite the fact it will be packed as it’s the holidays, I want us to get back in to the habit of it again.
Be completely ready for back to school time – thanks to M&S I already have a lot of the boys uniform, but I need to buy a new blazer, packed lunch boxes, school bags and more. Let’s hope a few of the invoices I’ve sent out recently get paid soon ;)
Have a huge clear out and do a car boot sale – I have already started on this, and it is mostly the weather we are waiting on for the car boot. I am determined to de-clutter the house and get it back to looking as lovely as it was when I was less busy. Plus the boys have grown out of so much. I am actually looking forward to this.
I think I will keep it at that, as I have listed a lot and don’t want to get carried away! I hope you all have a fantastic August!
