Monthly Bucket List for February 2017

Every month I write this post to try to keep myself more organised. In January 2017 much like many of the other months, this wasn’t a complete success.

Monthly Bucket list for February 2017

Here is how I got on this month.

January 2017 Goals and Results.

Increase my followers and stats as always.

Usually I write a list of my follower numbers and my page views and show how much they’ve grown. I’m not planning to do that any more. Partly I worry that it may seem like a bit of a brag or even just really boring.

I’m also not thinking about the numbers when blogging as much any more. This year I have gotten back to the basics of just enjoying it again, without getting caught up in all the stats, numbers, charts etc. I was never really obsessive over it all, but it was easy to get dragged into thinking too much about the numbers and it takes the enjoyment out of writing.

I have actually had my second highest ever views this month, so it isn’t to hide bad stats in case anyone wonders … If you are a numbers person and ever want to nose at how many followers I have here and there, then most of them are displayed in the footer of my site automatically anyway, just scroll down.

With my good visitor numbers this month and my followers increasing, I have achieved my goal here.

Lose weight

I have lost weight, put some weight back on and lost a bit more again. The usual really … overall my weight is still lower than when I wrote the last bucket list post though and I will be keeping at it as much as possible.

Finish our room

Big fat fail here. There’s a lot more to do around the house and Fin’s room is coming along well now. We will eventually have a finished house, I’m just not going to place any bets on when that may happen.

Finally find some dining room curtains

I did finally make my mind up and found some curtains that I love. They have really finished the dining room off and I love them. For anyone wondering, they are from Dunelm Mill, which is a shop I love, but shouldn’t go in to as I want to buy everything.

New curtains

Do some more YouTube videos

If you ignore the ‘some’ part of this, then it was a success. I made and published one short video in January.

I also unfortunately had a little more hate from someone on there. People really can be vile to each other and again it was from a profile of a child of around ten years old. After the first lot of horrible comments about my appearance I wrote the post – Are Your Children Accidentally Trolling?. My previous post Sticks and Stones is also pretty relevant in this situation.

I keep contemplating turning off the commenting on there, but for now I’ll just rise above it and ignore the meanies.

Spring Clean the whole house

This is what is known as an epic failure. With Si still working on Fin’s new room, we have furniture and tools everywhere. Plus I’ve been in lazy mode … that I have no excuse for, but I’m working on spring cleaning the place this week. Honestly I am.

I have exercised, nowhere near as much as I was intending to. However it is still a partial success, as I have actually done some.

Be more frugal

With overdue invoices and bills to pay, being more frugal wasn’t so much a choice as essential in the end this month. So this one is a success, but not by any calculated means.

My goals for February 2017.

Have a fantastic time at Butlin’s – I am so looking forward to our next holiday as part of being a Butlin’s Ambassador. Our last visit to Minehead was mostly good, the kids enjoyed it more than we did. However this time, not only are we going to be staying in some fancy pants Lakeside accommodation that looks amazing, but we will also have our good friends Trev, Lisa and their boys with us.

Lisa blogs over at The Love of A Captain and will also be reviewing her stay. We’ll be next door neighbours and I can not wait. I suspect we will have a lot more fun with adult company, plus a toddler and baby to play with. Although we may have to put up with Si and Trev reliving their teen days and previous trips to Butlin’s.

Lose weight after Butlin’s – Since we have food included and I am well aware of how amazing the food at Minehead was last time, my weight loss will be waiting til we come back. I suspect there may well be a gain that week instead …

Exercise a lot more

Finish sorting old posts – With theme changes over the last year, a lot of my old posts have lost their spacing or have image issues. I am gradually working my way through all of them and just making sure that they look better. It’s slightly mind numbing, but necessary and I like that it’s making my blog prettier. I really want to finish it this month.

Give Harley a good birthday – My ‘baby’ turns 11 not long after we get back from Half Term and I want to make sure he has a great day. It seems so mad that he’ll be going to secondary school in September and that my other son will be a teenager in July.

Clean my car – My poor car is filthy inside and out and really needs some love. I’m adding it here even though it’s not exciting to write about, but because it may mean that I actually do it.

Spring clean and major de-clutter of the house – This is another thing that really needs doing. I’m hoping that this month Fin’s room will be finished and we can start getting everything back to normal and also finish decorating our own bedroom.

Do another YouTube video – Despite the hate on there and comments on my appearance that I must admit do sometimes hurt a little, I am determined not to let the trolls win. So this month I want to do at least one new video of some description.

I will leave it at that as with a holiday and more this month, it will be a busy one already. What are your goals for this month?

Stevie x

On the whole, you have done really well. If I did a bucket list like this, I would only end up depressed at the low achievement! The holiday sounds great, what a bonus to be asked to review x

I need to start setting myself a few really easy ones just so I can tick them off ha ;)

YouTube is a cruel place, I hope you are ok lovely. This is what worries me about doing more videos. I can’t believe your youngest will be 11, that is a real milestone going to secondary school. x

I think having one video that went a bit crazy attracted people to my YouTube who wouldn’t usually be my target audience, I’m fine now lovely thank you. It’s never nice to read cruel comments, but I’m ignoring them ;)

Sounds like you are going to have a busy month! I can’t believe your eldest is now becoming a ‘tween’, I’m not sure how I will cope with that age. Sorry to hear you are still getting trolls on You Tube, you are brave to keep the comments on, I’m glad I haven’t had many comments yet. I’m planning some more videos too, although I doubt I’ll get many views. Have a great month! :) x

I think with YouTube and blogging you kinda have to have a thick skin otherwise you just shut down. But really, why are kids so bicthy?! Love the dining room curtains! Fab choice! Hope February is a success!

I know, if my two were ever like that they wouldn’t have tablets or internet access etc for a very long time. They wouldn’t be though, as I’ve brought them up to respect other people and care about their feelings. Thanks hon.

Have a fantastic time s buying, it sounds like you really will! I haven’t had too much trolling, but I’m not really doing much on you tube and don’t vlog, so maybe that’s why. It sounds horrible though. I also love dunelm, o try to stagger visits so I don’t get too carried away! Those curtains are lovely – great choice! #monthlybucketlist

Good on you Stevie for going ahead anyway. YouTube is the worst for nasty comments and I am far too sensitive to open myself up to it all. I also refuse Midge to go on there despite knowing I can turn off comments I think she is far too young.
I’ve def put weight on! I’m hopeless atm!
