Monthly Bucket List for January 2017

Monthly Bucket List for January 2017 … that felt very strange to type. I feel so old that I can still remember the odd feeling of not having a 19 at the beginning of a date.

This is as usual a post that I link up to the Monthly Bucket List linky on the Twinderelmo blog with the very lovely Beth. It is all about setting goals for the month ahead and looking back on how I did with the goals that I previously set.

How I got on with my December Goals

Increase my follower numbers and site views

At the end of November there had been 198,247 site views on my blog, there have now been 208,861 views to my blog since I started it in January 2015.

My Twitter was at 17,005 followers and now I have 17,352

My Facebook page was at 2318 likes, and now has 2380

Instagram was 11,593 now 11,820

Pinterest was 4512 and now is at 4564

Youtube – I had 740 subscribers, and I now have 994 subscribers. So close to my first 1000!

Tots 100 – Last month I was number 19 in the Tots 100 index of parent bloggers. I am currently number 5, my highest ever ranking. Absolutely crazy and I know I’ll be dropping next month, but just to be in the top 5 once really means so much! That’s 19 months in the top 200 now.

Have an amazing Christmas

We did have a lovely Christmas. It was a very lazy relaxed one, that involved a lot of food. I used to think that having the boys grow up would mean that Christmas wouldn’t be so fun, but in all honesty it is actually more so. They are old enough to stay up late, play games that we actually enjoy and they are much more chilled out. It is rare for them to fight these days and our Christmas was just so chilled out.

Arrange and schedule posts for my blog birthday in January

I have two competition posts scheduled, ready and raring to go. I have one more post I want to write for my blog birthday towards the middle of January but there is plenty of time for that. I may well sort out some more competitions too. Crazy to think my blog will very shortly be 2 years old.

Put weight on

Achieved and then some! I ate ALL the Christmas yummy food and I have zero regrets. The whole new year, new me shenanigans start very soon though.

Get the house Christmas ready

We still have a lot to do around here, but it was passable for Christmas. Not too many people tripped over the huge roll of carpet in the hallway, so I will count that as a win. 2017 will hopefully be the year everything here gets finished.

Get my accounts up to date

Pretty much done, I have even finally started so spreadsheets to make things easier. This is thanks to Donna telling that Google Sheets existed. Amazing.

Do some more YouTube

My most recent video has had over 39,000 views, which I am thrilled by. That quick numbers mention is to make up for me not actually doing another video at all yet …

My January Goals

Increase my followers and stats as always

Lose weight – any weight even one pound will be celebrated.

Finish our room – The new wardrobes that Si made look amazing, but our room still needs holes filling, painting and a new carpet. Si is currently working on Fin’s room, but I can actually help with our room.

Finally find some dining room curtains – We decorated our dining room weeks ago, but I have the perfect pair of curtains in my head and can’t find them anywhere. I think I need to just settle on some that I like, as the room looks unfinished as it is.

Do some more YouTube videos – I’m pushing myself in to it by adding it again.

Spring Clean the whole house – Well those rooms that don’t currently have Simon doing messy DIY in anyway.

Exercise – Any form for any amount of time. I suspect my bum is currently sofa shaped from all my hibernating on it. I need to get more active. I think I will get out more with my camera for long walks at the very least. No doubt you will be able to see on my Instagram if I am actually doing that.

Be more frugal – We waste money all the time on things we don’t really need, especially takeaways. This month I am going to try and do more saving and less spending on anything not essential.

I think I will leave it at that, before I get carried away! I think January is going to be a very busy month already.

How was your December and Christmas? Brilliant I hope.

Stevie x

Congratulations on the tots ranking, that’s fantastic. I love that you had ‘put weight on’ as a goal for over Christmas, I think that’s one goal we can all keep at that time of year! Good luck with this months goals, I have exercise on mine too, maybe this will be the month I actually tick it off x

You did brilliantly last month and great goals for this month too, spring cleaning is definitely one of my must tackle areas too, especially those areas that you kind of forget about it as you’re used to the mess… Well done on the fab stats too, number 5 is a brilliant achievement, I’m sure you will stay near the top Mrs! :) xxx

Great stats amazing Facebook growth in a month I really struggle with that one. We definitely waste money too so being more frugal is a good one.

    • 5 January 2017 / 10:32 am

Well I most definitely achieved the weight gain one ;) I can’t actually believe how much money we wasted on takeaways in the last few months eek, the new year healthy eating kick will be good for our bank accounts too!

I’ll be with you every pound of the way after my indulgent Christmas! Your blog stats continue to inspire us all and you deserve to be in the tots chart so high every month given how hard you work with your blog. 2017 goal? To meet up!!!!!! xx

One big list! On my list is to actually do my New Year post. Ooops, ah well, it’s just a hobby. About the frugal bit, I have actually done the first step, making a budget for the next few months. Yay me. Now comes the hard part, sticking to it! Hope you have a great month! (I know you’ve already got new curtains :))

    • 10 January 2017 / 7:29 pm

Ha I am in love with my new curtains ;) I really need to do some budgeting and planning if I want to be vaguely frugal this month/year!
