Monthly Bucket List: July 2017

Crazily it is time for another Monthly Bucket List post and for me to join in with the MBL linky over at Twinderelmo, which is run by the lovely Beth. Here is my list for July 2017, the things that I hope to achieve and how I got on with last month’s goals.

A Cornish Mum dot Com beach and bucket

How I got on with my June 2017 Goals

Complete my 400,000 steps for Type 1 Diabetes

Complete success for this one! I walked over 400,000 steps in less than 40 days to raise money for Type 1 Diabetes research, which means I walked over 200 miles. It felt like more ha, but I am proud of myself for sticking at it, even when the weather was absolutely awful.

Get organised and buy all of Fin’s birthday presents for next month

All done apart from a couple of bits that I’m leaving til the last minute on purpose. I still can’t quite believe that I will be the Mum of a teenager on the 11th. Although attitude wise some days from him, I can well and truly believe it ha – help!

Get more organised full stop

I have actually been pretty good this month at not forgetting everything and keeping lists. I have been a lot less forgetful than I was being thanks to this, so I count this as a success.

Clean my oven

Total and utter failure, it is still a health hazard. Possibly I should just stop cooking in it, that’ll keep us all healthy and save having to clean it .. or just buy a new oven?

Take the boys swimming

Fail. I’m trying to think of some excuse other than I couldn’t really be bothered, but to be honest I couldn’t. I’ll be taking them in the school holidays for definite, as I won’t get away with not doing so then.

Be more proactive with finding blog work

I’ve sent out emails to a few people I have worked with before and also suggested different ideas when people have emailed about posts that wouldn’t suit my blog and it helped. I earned more in June than I have ever earned in one month from my blog … or in fact from any job I’ve ever had. Blogging is feast and famine though, so no doubt there will be quiet months again.

Sort my hair

Utter failure, it is still a bit of a streaky mess with grey roots. However with the sunny hot weather, I mostly wore it up in a pony tail during June anyway.

My goals for July 2017.

Plan lots of days out with the boys for the school holidays – With one of the boys turning 13 this month and the other 11 already, they are outgrowing so many things and places already. I want to make the most of all the time we can, just in case they decide I’m too uncool to be seen in public with. I am, but they haven’t realised yet.

Give Finley a great birthday – He actually has school on his birthday, but he’s requested Dominos pizza for tea and we have cinema plans the weekend over with a friend sleeping over for him as well. I am hoping his birthday will still be fun despite it being a school day.

Manage not to cry and embarrass Harley at his Leavers Assembly – As if I wasn’t emotional enough with my biggest boy turning 13 this month, my ‘baby’ will also be finishing primary school.

Reach 20k followers on Twitter – I have been edging ever closer to this and I’m hoping July will be the month when it happens. That number seems crazy to me and I have zero idea why so many people would want to follow me, but I really do appreciate that they do.

Finally write the posts about the boys’ bedroom makeovers – I have been meaning to do this for ages, adding it here to remind me.

Find a Britmums Sponsor – I am hoping to go to the Britmums blogging conference in September, but I really do need to find a sponsor to help me with travel and accommodation costs. So that will be my aim this month.

That’s it, all of my goals for July 2017, wish me luck! :)

Ugh cleaning oven – ours is a bit of a biohazard as well! Something like melting plastic smell in it at the moment. :/

Aww baby boy leaving primary school? Don’t be ashamed to cry! But yes do it discreetly so not to embarrass the poor fella! :)

Ooo yes always love makeover posts!

That 400k steps challenge was amazing! Well done you. I need to clean the oven too and get more organised. I just
    have zero incentive! :( x

Honestly just pay someone to clean your oven! It’s the best money you will spend and once it’s like new again, it is easy to keep on top of it. x #bucketlist
