My Likes and Loves April 2018

At the beginning of this month with my dodgy hip and back playing up, I wasn’t sure that I would have much to share for my liked and loved post this month. Thankfully the month definitely improved, so here is my usual happy list of my likes and loves for April 2018.

Easter School Holidays

I always love having the boys at home, partly for their company (you know when they aren’t out with their friends or on their PS4s etc…) and partly for the lie ins!

Weight Watchers

I bit the bullet on the evening of my birthday this month and decided that I didn’t want to spend the next year in pain from my dodgy hip and back so needed to do something to help my health. The something I did was sign up for Weight Watchers online and whoop I have lost weight already. My weigh in days are Mondays and this Monday I discovered that I had lost 4 lbs in my first week. I still haveĀ  along way to go, but it is a very good start.

My New Plants

One of my sisters bought me a lovely cactus for my birthday, I have wanted one for ages and I am a little bit in love with him. I’ve also bought myself what I think is a succulent erm, but it’s a bit spiky so could it be a cactus?! Honestly, this shows my level of plant knowledge. I also need to re-pot the cactus soon, wish me luck with those spikes!

Garden Centres

I turned 35 this month and have apparently become extremely middle aged in the process ha! Whereas I usually window shop for jewellery and clothes, recently I keep ‘window shopping’ for plants for our future garden. I’m loving having a mooch around garden centres taking in all the colours and tempting fate with my hayfever.

I find sunshine such a mood lifter and we’ve had several beautiful days lately and it has been so nice to see. Everything looks better in the sunshine… well minus the dust in my lounge that it shows up ha! Spring cleaning time now.

The Let Down on Netflix

I watched the whole series of this recently in one day and it is hilarious. The accuracy of the baby group and the things people send and the quick offence and unwarranted parenting advice etc… it just reminded me so much of the conversations and threads that I see on Facebook as well. I really hope that they do another series.

National Stationery Week

This week is National Stationery Week and as a complete stationery obsessive I am loving seeing all the stationery posts on social media. Not only that, but the organisers of National Stationery Week sent me a surprise parcel full of stationery. Now that is the best sort of surprise post to have.

I’ve been nice and use a lot of it to run giveaways for my readers, one went live earlier this week, one is on my Facebook page and another goes live tomorrow so keep an eye on my Current Giveaways page! I did decide to keep a couple of bits for myself though.

An absolutely gorgeous pen with a red case from CROSS and a set of Spectrum Noir pens, as they will be perfect for my eldest’s GCSE photography book which is black. I am still so jealous that teenagers can do a GCSE in photography now, I would love to do it myself!

What did you love about your April?

I was sent the stationery in this post, but as always all thoughts and opinions are my own and honest.

Congratulations on your weight loss! I forgot to mention in my post that I finally started losing weight again after two months of just gaining (I’ve been attempting to lose weight since June of 2017).

I love succulents and cacti as well. April is a wonderful month and makes me grateful for some many things such as my health, my family, and the warm beautiful sun that shines down on us and our garden that we’re trying to grow. Good luck with your weight loss and don’t beat yourself up if you fall off it for a day or two. Just get right back in the swing of things and keep going!

Window shopping in garden centres is the best! You’ll be fine repotting that cactus, just wear some gardening gloves and handle very gently!

It sounds like you had a lovely month and I love your cacti! Cute pots too. You are doing SO well at Weight Watchers too! x

I’m like you I have no clue when it comes to plants and love stationery. I didn’t know there was the possibility of doing photography for GCSE I may well have done that prior to doing a module in it at Uni.

Sounds like you had a fab month – and well done on the weight loss. I’ve got a succulent the same as that, it even flowered a little while ago! I’ve seen lots of people recommending The Let Down recently – I’ll have to give it a go :) #LikedAndLoved
