I skipped writing my February likes and loves post, but here are my likes and loves for March!
How beautiful has the weather been lately?! I have loved feeling the sun on my face and being able to get outside a lot more without getting soaked. Everything feels better when the sun is shining in my opinion.
The last couple of months I’ve had flowers in the house more than ever before I think. I’ve bought myself some, Si’s Mum bought me some daffodils to cheer me up during a particularly rubbish week and the boys both bought me gorgeous flowers for Mother’s Day. I love the way flowers brighten up a room and they also bought me a rose plant for the garden, which will be our first ever plant for the garden – let’s hope I keep it alive better than I do indoor plants ha!
We’re still sleeping in the lounge, but Si (with a bit of help from me) has stripped back the walls in our eldest’s room now and we’re gradually getting there. He’s made quite a bit of progress in the garden too, which means that I finally don’t have a huge wooden shed blocking my dining room window. We still have loads to do, but there has been so much progress lately, it all feels a bit more achieveable (for Si ha!) now.
I was sent some pies by Higgidy Pies this month to celebrate British Pie Week, which was the 4th to 8th March. They sent us the following pies – Free Range Chicken pie with ham and leek, British Beef Stilton and Sussex Ale pie, Creamy Mushroom and Kale pie and Paneer, Coconut and Spiced Chickpea pie. They also said that there was no obligation at all to mention the pies, but I am as I was so impressed with them!
The pastry on Higgidy pies is ridiculously good, the pies are stuffed full of fillings rather than being half full of air like a lot of pies and they were delicious. My favourite was the chicken one – it even has a heart on it.
As an early treat for Mother’s Day, Si’s Mum took me out for Afternoon Tea, which was lovely and meant that I could tick something off of my Bucket List too! I feel so lucky that I get on so well with Si’s parents, they’re both lovely and would literally do anything for their family.
We’ve been back to Cardinham Woods again this month and it looks just as beautiful in the spring time as it did in the autumn. It’s a brilliant place for a walk or a bike ride and a lot of paths are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs too, if you’re looking for more accessible woods in Cornwall.
One of the boys had some pretty severe skin issues due to chronic eczema for months, but this month we finally got to see a dermatologist and their recommended treatment actually worked really quickly thankfully. After months of misery and broken nights of sleep for all of us, he is finally pretty much better and so much happier for it. It’s literally the best thing that could have happened after the last few months!
I hope your March was a good one?
