National Stationery Week with Pen Heaven

My love of stationery really isn’t a very well kept secret, so I was more than happy to agree to help Pen Heaven out with letting everyone know about their fantastic National Stationery Week competition.

I’ll tell you more about the competition in a bit. National Stationery Week starts on 25th April this year and is a week all about celebrating the written word and all things stationery. Sounds like every week for me ha, but it is about reminding people to handwrite things still as well as using technology.

I expect some can hardly remember what their own handwriting looks like these days, but it is especially important for children to be shown how to handwrite and to see others doing it. Technology is great, but a reliance on spell checkers within it can make it that much harder to learn how to spell.

Personally I’m an obsessive list writer and note taker, all of which I do by hand as I love the visual sense of achievement of crossing something out when I’ve done it. Plus in all honesty I love the excuse to have a gorgeous pen…. and I do own an obscene amount of notebooks.

I really am someone who doesn’t think you can ever have enough good quality stationery. To celebrate National Stationery Week and to get me in the mood for it – as if I needed any help – the lovely people at Pen Heaven sent me a new notebook and pen.

Pen Heaven Set

I have to say that the notebook is the most gorgeous one I have ever owned, I should call it a journal really like they do on the website, but I’ll be using it as a notepad. It may sound odd, but my leather journal smells amazing. I keep wanting to sniff the high quality pages – yes I am a little odd.

My new journal

The ‘journal’ and pen came as a set that you can buy over at Pen Heaven for £36.90 at the moment, they are the OHTO Tasche Pink Ballpoint Pen & Amalfi Medium Leather Journal. They even specially embossed my initials on my journal, which is a fabulous touch that they offer as an additional service. It is so special, I need to think of a special use for it now!

Pen Heaven pen and journal

The pen is great as well, when it has the lid on it is a small size that would fit perfectly in to a pocket or small part of a handbag, but when you take the lid off and put it on the top of the pen, you instantly have a good sized pen. I like this part, as small pens can sometimes feel odd or clumsy to write with, but with this OHTO pen you have the best of both worlds.

On to the competition that I mentioned before I began waffling on about sniffing journals…

Pen Heaven are offering a prize of a £150 gift voucher to spend at Pen Heaven in their ‘I Love Stationery Because…. competition.

Literally all you have to do is either send them an email to info@penheaven.co.uk or a tweet to @pen_heaven with the hashtag #ILoveStationery, answering the question and perhaps including some photos of your own favourite stationery, or huge collection of it.

For information on the terms and conditions pop to the competition information over at Pen Heaven. The competition closes on 1st May 2016

Good Luck!

Oh your notebook and pen are beautiful. I love handwriting, I think it’s an art form. There is something really relaxing about creating beautiful lines on paper that read as the written word.

Ooh I love stationery! That journal really looks fabulous. I have been lucky enough to collaborate with Pen Heaven too and have got a post going live later in the week. And the competition is rather fun too :)

Oooh I do love a good notebook – I have loads of them for all different things (work, to-do lists, recipes) and am currently on the lookout for one to keep all the information & photos and things in for a wedding cake as one of my friends has asked me to make hers! I have also passed this love of Notebooks onto the Peachicks who currently have about 3 each on the go for writing (or drawing circles & e’s in Elodie’s case)!

That note book looks amazing, I love that it has your initials on the front. I am a big stationary lover too, I always have loads of different notebooks and diaries. I haven’t got a pink leather one though..xx #picknmix

Wow! I love stationery and have to hide new things from my husband and pretend I’ve had them for ages!! This looks gorgeous and a fab colour. This is nothing I love more than writing a list and ticking it off with a beautiful pen x

  • Parenting By Numbers

Writing on the first page of a new notebook is like torture in case I make a mistake haha! I only realised recently how little I write (with pen and paper) nowadays, may have to make more of an effort! #PicknMix

I love stationery and I also love handwriting. It is a shame that technology has taken over so much really (as she typed on her keyboard ;). I love the colour and I get the sniffing thing! :) #PicknMix

I’m a stationery fiend as well! I love that notebook…it’s the sort of one you get excited about and use your ‘best’ handwriting to write in! xx #Picknmix

What is it about stationery that gets us all so excited? It’s such an odd thing but i love it too (and so do so many other people!) I too am a list maker. Recently I took a stab at going digital as I thought it might be easier to manage. I was wrong. With digital calendars and notes I NEVER look at them so they’re pretty much useless. Back to good old pen and paper for me!
Oh and that notebook! Gorgeous! #PicknMix

I love stationary too and an avid list writer as well, sometimes I write something on the list that I have already done, just to cross it off – I usually did this at work. I love the notebook and the pen. Thanks for hosting a fab Linky. Claire x

What a gorgeous notebook… another self confessed stationery addict here. My 5yo is shaping up to be the same – she already has an impressive collection of notebooks and loves practicing her writing in them. I agree that it’s so important for kids to learn to write and spell properly in this digital age. Will definitely enter the competition! #PicknMix

  • becca farrelly

I too adore stationary!! I love a good notebook or diary and I agree with you on the whole ‘new book’ smell too! I love starting a new notebook and only ever want to ‘make it count’ when I start writing in them!! :)

This looks like a quality notebook, the kind you don’t want to waste away on lists. Maybe as a blog planner or to start writing your memoirs ? #PickNMix
