My love of stationery really isn’t a very well kept secret, so I was more than happy to agree to help Pen Heaven out with letting everyone know about their fantastic National Stationery Week competition.
I’ll tell you more about the competition in a bit. National Stationery Week starts on 25th April this year and is a week all about celebrating the written word and all things stationery. Sounds like every week for me ha, but it is about reminding people to handwrite things still as well as using technology.
I expect some can hardly remember what their own handwriting looks like these days, but it is especially important for children to be shown how to handwrite and to see others doing it. Technology is great, but a reliance on spell checkers within it can make it that much harder to learn how to spell.
Personally I’m an obsessive list writer and note taker, all of which I do by hand as I love the visual sense of achievement of crossing something out when I’ve done it. Plus in all honesty I love the excuse to have a gorgeous pen…. and I do own an obscene amount of notebooks.
I really am someone who doesn’t think you can ever have enough good quality stationery. To celebrate National Stationery Week and to get me in the mood for it – as if I needed any help – the lovely people at Pen Heaven sent me a new notebook and pen.
I have to say that the notebook is the most gorgeous one I have ever owned, I should call it a journal really like they do on the website, but I’ll be using it as a notepad. It may sound odd, but my leather journal smells amazing. I keep wanting to sniff the high quality pages – yes I am a little odd.
The ‘journal’ and pen came as a set that you can buy over at Pen Heaven for £36.90 at the moment, they are the OHTO Tasche Pink Ballpoint Pen & Amalfi Medium Leather Journal. They even specially embossed my initials on my journal, which is a fabulous touch that they offer as an additional service. It is so special, I need to think of a special use for it now!
The pen is great as well, when it has the lid on it is a small size that would fit perfectly in to a pocket or small part of a handbag, but when you take the lid off and put it on the top of the pen, you instantly have a good sized pen. I like this part, as small pens can sometimes feel odd or clumsy to write with, but with this OHTO pen you have the best of both worlds.
On to the competition that I mentioned before I began waffling on about sniffing journals…
Pen Heaven are offering a prize of a £150 gift voucher to spend at Pen Heaven in their ‘I Love Stationery Because…. competition.
Literally all you have to do is either send them an email to email@example.com or a tweet to @pen_heaven with the hashtag #ILoveStationery, answering the question and perhaps including some photos of your own favourite stationery, or huge collection of it.
For information on the terms and conditions pop to the competition information over at Pen Heaven. The competition closes on 1st May 2016
