Do you live in Cornwall and if not what brought you here?
We don’t live in Cornwall, we came on a family holiday this summer. It’s somewhere that we’ve been wanting to come for a while and show our girls this beautiful part of the country.
Where is your favourite place (or places) in Cornwall and why?
I fell in love with Padstow. I love how beautiful the harbour is and how we could just wander around looking in all the little shops it has to offer. Stop and enjoy an ice cream whilst watching the world go by. We spent several evenings in Padstow, as I loved it so much and we have a couple of lovely meals out there too.
If you were to ask Andy, he would say St Michael’s Mount. He loved walking across the sea walkway to it, and so did the girls. It’s a beautiful place and we always love a National Trust place too. There was lots to do and learn too. It was a great day out.
What camera do you use the most for your photos?
I use the Olympus pen 8 for my photos. I love it! It is small enough for me to be able to take out easier when I have the girls and it doesn’t take up much room in my bag. I love the quality of photos that it gives me and I have the 45mm lens too, which I adore for the right kind of photo.
It also looks pretty too :-)
If you could take a photograph of anyone or anywhere in the world, where or who would you choose?
For out honeymoon Andy and I went to Australia and had a brilliant time. We visited Ayres Rock, which is an amazing place and we did the sunrise tour, which was stunning. I would love to go back and do the sunset tour and photograph it. I can just imagine how amazing the photos would be.
Whilst I’ve always loved to take photos, over the last couple of years my love for photography has grown and I’ve learnt so much (I also still have a lot to learn!). To go back now with a little bit more knowledge and a different camera would be a dream.
Describe Cornwall in a maximum of three words:
Beautiful, peaceful and friendly.
Pasty or Cream tea?
Cream tea every time! You can’t beat a cream tea anywhere you are, but to have one in Cornwall is even more special.
If you could be anywhere in the World right now doing anything, what would you be doing and where?
For me it’s not necessarily where I am or what I’m doing. I just want to be with my family. They mean everything to me and unless all my extended family were going to come with me, I would just want to stay where I am.
If everyone in my life was able to come too, then I would love to be Sydney sitting in the harbour watching the world go by.
Please tell me a random fact about you?
This is a random fact about Andy and I – I used to be Andy’s boss, that is how we first met. We then didn’t see each other for years, apart from the odd fleeting hello. Then when we did meet up on a random night out, we were both single and as they say the rest is history. They also say, that I am still the boss of him :-)
Thanks Laura, I completely agree with you about the who you’re with being the most important part! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos with us
