Photos of Cornwall – Nine to Three Thirty

Welcome to another addition to the Photos of Cornwall section, one of my favourite sections of my blog. This is the section where I publish Photos of Cornwall interviews along with photos taken by other people. I love seeing my county through other’s eyes and sometimes even discovering places I haven’t visited yet!

The Photos of Cornwall Interview

Name:

Erica Price

Blog Name:

Nine to Three Thirty and A Little Luxury For Me

What brought you to Cornwall – if you don’t live here?:

My first visit to Cornwall was when I was at university and we went to Newquay for some fun and a bit of body boarding. What brought me back though was the landscape and the history.

Where is your favourite place in Cornwall?:

My favourite place in Cornwall is Padstow, although St.Ives runs it a close second. I love the sea.

What camera/mobile phone do you usually use for you photos?:

I usually use my iPhone 5 or my Nikon D3200 (a DSLR, but a good one for a beginners) depending on what I have to hand.

If you could take a photograph of anyone or anywhere in the world, where or who would you choose?:

Photo of anyone or anywhere: At the moment my son is obsessed with Harry Potter, so I think we’d like to take a picture of Daniel Radcliffe as Harry at Hogwarts.

Describe Cornwall in a maximum of three words:

sea, sand, clotted cream

Pasty or Cream tea?:

Cream tea no contest.

If you could be anywhere in the World right now doing anything, what would you be doing and where?:

I’d be in Australia having a cup of team with my sister (not that I’m really that fussed about visiting Oz, but I do miss my sister)

Please tell me a random fact about you?:
My six times great-grandfather (James Tytler) was the first Briton to fly a hot air balloon.

Thanks Erica, I love your random fact! He must have been very brave, as I suspect hot air balloons weren’t quite as safe back then!

I think he must have been brave Stevie. He didn’t fly very far or very high, but I don’t think he had much control over steering.

I can just imagine! How wonderful to have something like that to tell the generations :) Thanks for taking part!

Beautiful photos. I absolutely love Cornwall. Haven’t been for a good ten years or so now though. Must get down some time.

Gorgeous photos. Padstow is so beautiful but it is actually my least favourite part of Cornwall. It’s just way too busy and commercialised for me and we had a terrible meal at the Rick Stein restaurant, it was so disappointing. I’m a bit of a restaurant snob and I wouldn’t go there again. I also spent some time in Newquay while I was at uni, I had a week’s work experience at the St Mawgan RAF base. Such a great week!x

I love Padstow out if season, it just gets a bit manic for me in the tourist season. The coastline near it is absolutely stunning :)

The weather is actually beautiful here at the moment and lovely and warm in the sun. After a very wet winter I am hoping Cornwall is in for a stunning spring time :)

Lovely beautiful pictures. We love it down there so much and even had our honeymoon there. It’s definitely on my list of life goals to move there some day!
