What brought you to Cornwall – if you don’t live here?:

I live in Cornwall and have done my whole life. My husband’s family come from Derbyshire and it’s very beautiful up there as well but not like Cornwall. Cornwall is home.

Where is your favourite place in Cornwall?:

This is a hard question. I love many places in Cornwall and there are still lots more to discover, but I think it’s probably The Lizard. It’s a very beautiful place especially in the Summer and as the sea is on the south coast and not the north it’s very calm and peaceful. The Lizard is a peninsula and is Britain’s most southerly point. Oh and if you ever go down there you must try out Ann’s homemade Pasties – AMAZING!

What camera/mobile phone do you usually use for your photos?:

I don’t own a camera and I don’t even have a newish phone either. Just an iPhone 4s, but i hope to upgrade soon and also save up for a good camera.

If you could take a photograph of anyone or anywhere in the world, where or who would you choose?:

I would choose my older sister who lives in Vancouver. I only get to see her twice a year and we were very close before she left to live there 10 years ago. I do miss her. Especially now since I became a mum and she has yet to meet her 5 month old niece. So any chance I could get to see her I would.

Describe Cornwall in a maximum of three words:

Home, Peaceful, Picturesque

Pasty or Cream tea?:

Haha, you can’t ask a Cornish girl that! Both – I have grown up with pasties and cream teas all my life. As a kid we always had pasties on Saturdays for tea, either made by my mum or auntie. A cream tea would have to be with Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream as well, it’s so good I can eat it with a spoon right from the tub!

If you could be anywhere in the World right now doing anything, what would you be doing and where?:

I would find a quiet spot down at The Lizard and read my favourite book, Stephen King’s The Stand eating a pasty.

Please tell me a random fact about you?:

I live with the sea and beaches all round me, yet I cannot swim!

Thanks Rachel, I love your photos especially the Malpas one! I love The Lizard as well and I tasted my first Ann’s pasty a little while ago – oh my word you’re right, they are pretty epic.

Lovely pictures! Funnily enough, like Rachel’s husband, I’m from Derbyshire (kind of – NE Derbys/S Yorkshire border area!) & I think Cornwall is beautiful but doesn’t quite compare to derbyshire & yorkshire for me! As Rachel says, it must be what you view as home! #picknmix
