Photos of Cornwall – School Runs and Shopping Trolleys

It has been a while since I published a new Photos of Cornwall post, but here is a new one with some gorgeous photos of Cornwall including Porthcurno and Porthminster beaches!

What brought you to Cornwall – if you don’t live here?

This year we bought a new car and tent, with the specific intention of camping in Cornwall. We’ve done Devon to death, but Cornwall is where hubby’s heart lies and he was desperate to take us there (although it’s me who does the driving!).

We camped at a basic site in Penzance and it was fab! We visited St. Ives and Land’s End twice, as well as Porthcurno, Marazion and the Cornish Seal Sanctuary. I can understand now why he loves it so much.

Where is your favourite place in Cornwall and why?

So far, Porthcurno Beach. We arrived really early in the morning, before the hordes turned up and it was just beautifully peaceful and so picturesque.

What camera/mobile phone do you usually use for your photos?

If I’m just snapping I use my phone – a Sony Xperia Z3, although I’m not really taken with the camera on it. I prefer using my Canon EOS 550D DSLR and then edit in Snapseed or Fotor apps on my phone.

If you could take a photograph of anyone or anywhere in the world, where or who would you choose?

My children, on a beach. Which I do, often! There’s just something about how free they are, especially my daughter, who is autistic and really seems to connect with the natural world.

Describe Cornwall in a maximum of three words:

Enchanting, captivating, addictive.

Pasty or Cream tea?

I like a nice pasty, but it’s cream tea all the way (and I prefer the Cornish way of jam then cream)!

If you could be anywhere in the World right now doing anything, what would you be doing and where?

It’s a cliché, but anywhere my children are, preferably by the sea. Being at the coast makes us all feel happy and uplifted – probably because we live in the centre of the country about as far from the coast as we can be!

Please tell me a random fact about you?

I can get my fist in my mouth…

Thank you for taking part, Kelly! I love your random fact and that you sent some Land’s End photos, which is one of my favourite places to spend time.

I’m a huge fan of snapseed for editing photos too, really can’t find anything as good on my computer as snapseed on the phone. I love that photo of Porthminster Beach. I also love that you can get your fist in your mouth, and I didn’t just try it. Honest.

Hi Stevie and Kelly, great photos. Pasty or cream tea? Hard to choose really. In fact I’d go as far to say I enjoy them equally and even more if the cream tea directly follows the pasty! The photo of Lands End is beautifully rugged, and I grew up in Devon, but can’t ever remember visiting Lands End!… What were my parents thinking?
