A new addition to the Photos of Cornwall section here on A Cornish Mum. This time from the lovely Onna of St Ives Penzance.
St Michael’s Mount
Marketing Manager and Editor of St Ives Penzance
Are you Cornish and if not what brought you to Cornwall?
I was born in Sweden and moved to England with my family as a baby. After growing up in Yorkshire we moved down to Cornwall when I was 9 years old. 16 years later and I’m still here. Now I’m older I appreciate its beauty so much more! Couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.
Porthminster Beach – St Ives
Where is your favourite place in Cornwall?
Porthcurno, it’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been.
What camera do you use the most for your photos?
My iPhone7. I do use my Canon D70 sometimes but I find most of my photos happen spontaneously and my phone is all I have to hand.
Which do you prefer to capture with your lens – landscapes/seascapes, people or animals and why?
It’s probably a draw between landscapes and food, it that cheating? Cornwall has some really good food!
Jubilee Pool – Penzance
If you could take a photograph of anyone or anywhere in the world, where or who would you choose?
I’d love to go to Barcelona and photograph the Sagrada Familia but if we’re getting sentimental probably my friends, I love catching people in really candid moments.
Describe Cornwall in a maximum of three words:
Peaceful, brisk and beautiful.
Pasty or Cream tea?
Cream tea, for sure.

If you could be anywhere in the World right now doing anything, what would you be doing and where?
I’m very lucky to say I’m pretty happy where I am but perhaps exploring Italy with my boyfriend.
Please tell me a random fact about you?
I never went to traditional university, instead I studied English Literature with The Open University.
Thank you Onna, your photos are absolutely beautiful. I’ve for some strange reason never been to Porthcurno beach, but I now really want to!
If you would like to take part in Photos of Cornwall, then drop me an email at email@example.com and I will tell you what you need to do. You don’t need to be a blogger or a professional photographer, it is open to anyone who wants to share their love of Cornwall.
