Photos of Cornwall – Alex Stevenson

Time for a new instalment to my favourite section of my blog, the Photos of Cornwall section! This time I have photos from the very talented Alex, but enough from me I’ll let you hear what Alex had to say and show you his photos.

Name:
Alex Stevenson

Occupation:

Photographer and sales assistant

Are you Cornish and if not what brought you to Cornwall?:
For most of my life I have lived in Suffolk. In 2009, me and my family moved to North Cornwall for the beaches and the lifestyle.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?:

An astronaut! Space has always fascinated me but I think studying (and almost failing) physics at A level destroyed that dream.

Where is your favourite place in Cornwall?:

I’ve recently enjoyed photographing Bude and some surrounding areas, but I will always love my local beaches around St Merryn and Padstow.

What camera do you use the most?:

I use a Canon 50d for my photos. For everyday things, my mobile phone is the best and my GoPro is great for video.

If you had to only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would you choose?:

I love chocolate, but I’m not sure if I could eat it all of the time…

Do you have a favourite photo that you have taken and if so why?:

I’d have to say my photo of Porthcothan Bay is one of my favourites because of how well it captures the moment and the motion in the water.

Any photography tips for amateurs?:

Photograph as much as possible, ideally at sunrise/sunset. I’d also recommend having a look through the work on 500px for inspiration and some amazing locations.

Tell me a random fact about you?:

Just a week ago I had one of the best experiences ever – quad biking through the desert in Egypt!

Thank you Alex for sharing your stunning photos with myself and my readers! My favourite is the one of the beach at Bude, although it was a hard decision! Quad biking through the desert sounds amazing, and I have seen from your website that you like to travel.

If any one would like to see more of Alex’s work and have the opportunity to purchase prints, then pop to the Alex Stevenson Photography website.
