Photos of Cornwall – Sons, Sand and Sauvignon

Welcome to another addition to the Photos of Cornwall section, one of my favourite sections of my blog! Most weeks I will be publishing on a Wednesday, a new Photos of Cornwall interview along with photos taken by other people. I love seeing my county through other’s eyes.

The Photos of Cornwall Interview

Blog Name:

Sons, Sand & Sauvignon

What brought you to Cornwall – if you don’t live here?:

When planning our wedding we wanted somewhere that complimented our beach theme. We found a venue in a magazine, that was an old fort on a cliff with it’s own private beach. Nothing was ever going to be more suitable.

It was just inside Cornwall, and we fell in love with the venue and the area straight away. We had a few visits during the planning stages, and each time we were warmly welcomed and the views and villages took our breath away. We really need to revisit and explore a bit more, it is such a stunning part of the country.

Where is your favourite place in Cornwall?:

It has to be where these photo’s were taken, the gorgeous Polhawn Fort in Torpoint.

What camera/mobile phone do you usually use for your photos?:

I generally use my iPhone for most things, but I have recently got a new camera which I hope to use a lot more. It is a Nikon Coolpix L840

Describe Cornwall in a maximum of three words:
Picturesque, Welcoming, & Breath-taking

Pasty or Cream tea?:

Oh, cream tea, definitely

If you could be anywhere in the World right now doing anything, what would you be doing and where?:

At this very moment in time, I would love to be on a beach in The Maldives, with my husband, relaxing with a cocktail having a well earned rest from our 3 crazy monkeys! (Written towards the end of the Christmas holidays…How did 2 weeks ever drag so much?!)

Please tell me a random fact about you?:

I was a passionate performer at school. I had singing lessons and got up to Grade 8 in music theatre exams, where I passed with a distinction. Now? I can’t sing for toffee!

Thanks Clare,

Stevie x

What a fab post! I’ve personally never been to Cornwall but it’s somewhere is like to try out one day! Especially after getting to know you and reading snippets about the place from time to time :)

Hehe I’m a pasty girl but I won’t complain with a good cream tea. I love Cornwall, especially all the magical stories of King Arthur and Merlin. My cousin actually wrote a book featuring 365 beaches in Cornwall, it’s such a beautiful places. I bet with a little bit of shower singing you’ll have endless stashes of toffee in no time!

It’s great seeing what other people love about Cornwall, I haven’t seen much of north Cornwall as I have on,y lived in Cornwall for 3 years. Though my husband was born and bred in Helston and I think I have seen more of the county than he has lol! Now I really want a pasty for lunch

Gorgeous photos. Cream tea in Cornwall, sounds like heaven (although I would have to have a pastie as well, far too difficult to decide between the two!)

    • 29 January 2016 / 8:14 pm
