Happy Friday! Time again for the Pick ‘n Mix Fridays weekly blogger link up linky, where you can link up any post new or old with me and the lovely Eilidh who blogs at Mummy and Monkeys.
I’ve had a great week, it’s been beautiful down here in Cornwall so I’ve even been to the beach. I was given a Nikon D3300 camera for my birthday last week, so I’ve been having fun playing with that. It really will be taking a lot of getting used to, with a huge amount of options and buttons on it. I’m in love with it already though.
I hope you’ve all had fantastic weeks as well and have had sunshine where ever you are in the country/world.
Before I continue, I would like to point something out that some of you may not realise about commenting on blogs. Moz who work out your site’s Domain Authority each month count the number of links to your blog each month. These links not only come from other sites linking directly to you, but did you know that commenting builds those link numbers as well?
The more you comment on sites where you have to leave your url, and especially sites with commentluv, the more you will grow your link numbers and potentially your DA. If this is something that matters to you, then get commenting – a lot. See if it makes a difference if you comment on more blogs than you usually do, and linkies like this one are a good place to find lots of posts to comment on easily.
Each week myself and Eilidh choose our favourite post that we have read to feature on our blogs, and if you are chosen you have the option of displaying the badge below if you want to. Entirely optional though.
My favourite post from last week came from Sarah over at Admissions of A Working Mother with her post What are Little Boys Made of? Frogs and snails and puppy dog tails. I always love Sarah’s writing style and this post really made me smile, remembering my own boys at the age of her son.
I very much agree with letting kids be kids, letting them get dirty and investigate the world that they live in without being made to grow up too quickly.
Please remember, that even if you don’t get many visits or comments from people through Pick ‘n Mix click throughs, we do retweet you which helps to get your blogs out there to others. My Twitter followers are over 13000 at the moment and Eilidh’s are over 6800, and also if you get chosen as our favourite blog from that week you get a shout out on the next week’s post including a follow link.Add our badge to your post (we can help if you get stuck!) Add your link or links (a max of two please) to the Inlinkz below Please comment on the host posts – one each from me and Eilidh, or both if you like. Comment on the post before yours preferably – we do understand if it’s a topic you aren’t comfortable with – and as many other posts as you have the time to visit. Use the #PicknMix on social media and when commenting so that others know you have a Pick ‘n’ Mix Fridays post for them to return the favour and read Feel free to tag us in your post tweet @stevie_couch and @MummyandMonkeys for a retweet, again use the #PicknMix
Please be aware though, with no offence intended, that if the title to your post has a swear word in it that isn’t at least partly obscured by symbols, then I will try to choose another post from your twitter feed to retweet. I try to keep my social media and blog 100% family friendly, plus I have several 10-year-olds from my youngest son’s class following me on twitter.
You can add any post (or two) new or old, any subject including reviews, competitions and more. ALL bloggers are welcome, whether you are a parenting blogger, or any other type of blogger – so long as you write in English, as google translate isn’t always up to the job. The more of a ‘mix’ the better, as it makes it a lot of fun to read them all :)
We look forward to reading your links! You will get a visit and comment from at least one of us and many of you will be lucky enough to get one from both of us! I try as often as I can to comment on all posts – you will notice though that some weeks this is at some ridiculous time on the night before the next linky opens – okay not just some weeks….
Have a lovely weekend everyone, and thank you for linking up and making Pick ‘n’ Mix a lot of fun for us,
