Trespass were recently lovely enough to offer me the choice of any item that I wanted from their site to review. I chose the Penrose womens waterproof parka jacket in Shiraz.
Anyone who follows me on Twitter will be able to guess why I chose a new jacket. Namely it’s to make watching football in the freezing cold and wet a bit more comfortable. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching Harley at football practice after school and when he has matches, I really do – but why oh why does it always have to rain?
Not enough for football to be cancelled, but just enough for the tops of my legs to get damp and freezing. In particular, I chose the Penrose jacket, because it is lovely and long. Long enough to cover the parts of my legs that I most hate getting cold and to keep me cosy.
As you can see from my photo, it has a gorgeous fur lined hood – but if fake fur isn’t your thing, then cleverly Trespass have made it so that you can take the fur off if you want to. One coat – two looks! Personally though, I love the furry part of the hood and it makes it feel so cosy when you put it up.
The Trespass ladies Penrose jacket is waterproof, wind proof and has just the right amount of padding in it. I don’t like jackets that are too padded as being only 5 foot 2 tall, overly padded jackets make me look shorter and dumpier. Not this one though and it is also one of the warmest jackets I have ever owned.
Perfect for the stormy weather we’ve been having in Cornwall recently. It may be a while until I get to test it out watching football though, as the school football pitch is too waterlogged to use at the moment. My jacket arrived on Saturday, which was good timing as we went for a walk and some naughty chips at Mevagissey yesterday and it has suddenly gone quite a bit colder in my part of Cornwall.
The jacket has very generously sized pockets, which is always handy with children of any age. I also love that despite the pockets at the very front, they have also put a zip at each side, so you still have side on pockets to pop your hands in to keep them warm.
There are waist and hood tighteners on the jacket to make it more fitted, and it is generously sized. I went for a Medium to be safe as I wear several layers when watching football, but if it wasn’t for this I would have gone for a small. The Trespass website has plenty of information on the measurements of each size though, to make it easy to make your size choice.
I would definitely recommend the Trespass Penrose women’s waterproof parka jacket and especially as on the Trespass site at the moment it is is only £37.99!
