Silverspring Hideaway Glamping Pod in Cornwall – Review

We came home on Monday from a 4 night stay in a pod near Constantine in Cornwall, which is a handy location for Falmouth, Helston and the West of Cornwall. The place we stayed at was the Hideaway at Silverspring Farm, and here’s our review of our little glamping staycation holiday.

Silverspring Hideaway Review

We’ve stayed in a pod before not far away at Trecombe Lakes which was brilliant, so we fancied trying another one this year. Silverspring is hidden away down a country lane, and the owners were really friendly when we arrived. One of the owners Keri, had even had special chocolate lollies made with the boys names on, and there was everything I needed for a cream tea there ready.

The actual pod isn’t far from the owner’s home. Now this might not sound very private, but they’ve done it in a really clever way. The pod is a tiny walk along a path from their house, and is actually in it’s own courtyard style area. It’s actually very enclosed and private and you actually feel like you’re out in the middle of nowhere on your own – well apart from the snoring from at least two of the inhabitants of our pod ;).

We also had ponies in the field next to us, and a big tortoise living in a little house to the right of us.

This was one of our views in the mornings through the window….

We stayed at the pod from Thursday until Monday, and could have happily stayed for longer. Silverspring Hideaway was so cosy inside, and had everything we needed for a good glamping stay. They even have an outside swimming pool, but we couldn’t use it unfortunately as although it is heated, it’s seasonal as it would cost them a fortune to heat it all year.

Everything inside the pod was clean and in good condition. The tv/dvd player came in handy in the evenings as well, and we had some lovely family film nights which we hadn’t done for a while!

We didn’t just watch films though, we went on some lovely days out whilst we were there, which I’ll tell you more about soon. The boys also loved stroking the ponies, going for walks across their fields, and on one night we had a fire in the fire pit up in one of the fields.

It was Halloween when we had our firepit, so instead of being dragged out trick or treating for Halloween this year we were sat under more stars than I have ever seen around the fire eating sweets, toasting marshmallows and just enjoying some family time. Perfect.

Silverspring Autumn

The photo above of all the stones, is a maze they’ve made at Silverspring, which the boys loved. Such a simple, but fun idea. We loved our holiday at Silversprings and I really do recommend it there. It hasn’t got the polished look of a holiday park as you walk around, as it’s more rustic than that, but that is half the charm and the pod is just perfect for a family holiday.

We visited St Michael’s Mount whilst we were staying there and it was amazing.

You can book to stay with them through Owner’s Direct. They don’t actually have their own website though yet. I’d book quickly if you want to though, as they get booked up quickly as their prices are so reasonable and they get a lot of return guests.

If you’re looking for more places to go in Cornwall, I have a post with over 100 places to go in Cornwall, one with things to do in Cornwall when it’s raining and another with places to go in Cornwall all year.

*I was not asked to write this review, it’s my own words and opinions as always, and we paid for our holiday in full*

What a fab way to spend a lovely few days away. So much more civilised than trying to put up a tent and midnight traipses to the loo! The pod is very stylish and cosy, and what a lovely view. I can’t wait to hear about your trips out, although black marks for not making it to Porthleven .. Hehe! xx

I am definitely more of a glamper than a camper! ;) I know, awful that I don’t even think I’ve ever been there! I’m sure I’ll make up for it at some point though ha! The pod was lovely and so cosy when it rained in the night to be in in the warm hearing it.

Oh my word this looks lovely! What a nice place to spend half term too. I used to live not too far away from there and it is pretty. Roasting marshmallows and spending time together sounds much better than trick or treating x
