When the people at Social Network Solutions asked if they could sent me a hamper of Mother’s Day must haves, I said yes please expecting a few treats and a few little surprises. I really did not expect what actually arrived!
They sent me the kind of hamper that dreams are made of, full of treats that would all make perfect Mother’s Day gifts from lots of different companies. Some I had never heard of before, but having investigated their sites I will be re-visiting in future – my debit card is already quivering in fear.
So here goes, lots of photos and information below on what was in my hamper, the websites to go and visit if you like the look of these things yourself and a little bit of what I think of each one. Keep an eye out for discount codes as well!
This dress was one of my favourite items in the hamper, it’s from Lagom Fashion and is one of the loveliest dresses I have ever owned. The material is really heavy, you can just feel the quality of it and the shape is very flattering. If you check out their site, you’ll see they have a real feel of quirky elegance to their pieces.
The random photo of my legs, is to show off the tights that I had sent in my hamper. I received 3 pairs of Pendeza pantyhose and they are tights for people with a darker skin tone, although they work well for giving pale legs a nice tanned look.
Pendeza are all over the world, pop to the Pendeza website to find a store near you.
My absolute favourite item of all is the Elie Beaumont watch above, I got so excited opening it especially as it came in a lovely box and leather case. It is the most beautiful watch I have ever owned and perfect. I really have been completely spoilt! If you check out the Elie Beaumont website, I challenge you not to fall in love with half the site.
In the same photo as my gorgeous new watch are some pretty costume jewellery rings from Majique Jewellers who are on ebay and if you go to the Majique shop on there and enter the discount code EBAY-MAJIQUE-OCEANICJEWELLERS this will give you a special 10% discount. They sell lots of lovely sparkly things, and are very affordable but look more expensive – perfect for a gift.
In the photo to the right above is the lovely Dior perfume I was sent in the hamper from Scentsational (they have an up to 50% sale on at the moment) which smells fresh and slightly fruity!
Next to the perfume is my new necklace from Kaytie Wu. It’s a lot more sparkly than I’ve managed to show in this photograph – this dull winter weather really isn’t helping my photography! I love that it’s a bit quirky and different, which I am increasingly realising is something I’m a fan of.
Above is the most comfortable and softest top I have ever owned from No Balls, it’s the pure bamboo flow top and the peach colour is just the right shade. It’s meant to be a yoga exercise top, but looks good enough to wear at any time. Bamboo is much kinder to the environment than man-made fibres and it feels lovely against your skin as a material.
The photo of my face (I hate photos of myself by the way!) shows me wearing some of the tube of Dr Paw Paw that is showing in the other photo. Their multi-purpose soothing balm can be used on lips or other parts of the face, and I love how it gives me a little bit of colour without looking like I’ve caked make-up on. It is actually very rare for me to wear much make-up at all.
The watch looking item on the bottom right above is from NuTech Design and is a NuBand Activ wireless activity tracker. There’s a Nuband Facebook page with fitness and health tips on, that I’ll be haunting from now on as well.
I’m still getting used to everything this can do, but already I know from the inbuilt pedometer that I really don’t walk enough, and the sleep tracker on it has also told me that I don’t sleep enough and that I have several hours of unsettled sleep every night. I think stress relieving walks now that spring is on the way will solve both of those issues.
It does also work as a watch, which is handy especially if you wear it on the treadmill like I have been. I’m determined that one day it will tell me I have walked enough, burnt enough calories AND slept enough… wish me luck.
The pink and gold champagne from Perfect Tipple in this photo is gorgeous…. an odd thing to say about a drink, but if you pop to my instagram account and find the video of it you’ll see what I mean. It’s almost like watching a lava glitter lamp when you shake it, and I have to confess to not being able to tell you what it tastes like – I am saving it for a special occasion. This definitely has the wow factor as a gift though!
The hot water bottle is from The Fine Cotton Company and is very pretty, I’m a big fan of a hot water bottle in the colder months so this will most definitely get used a lot. If you use the discount code MUM16 you can get 10% off the whole website currently, be quick though!
Next to the hot water bottle is an Alessi tea bag squeezer teaspoon from Design 55 Online which you can use to squeeze a stringed tea bag so that it doesn’t drip everywhere when you take it out of the cup – very handy and it has a classy look to it.
In the photos above on the bottom right hand side is some gorgeously dainty jewellery from Orelia. This is just my style, I love delicate elegant looking jewellery. I hadn’t heard of Orelia before, but oh wow wait til you have a nose at the Orelia site! You can actually buy the ‘You Make Me Smile’ card with the heart necklace on, which fits inside its own envelope and would be a brilliant gift to post to someone if you needed to.
Now this item on the left above…. is something I never thought I would own. I spend my money on the children or bills, so handbags for me tend to be cheap ones that hopefully don’t look it. I really didn’t think I would ever own such a quality handbag as this Ilex London one. It even came with its own bag, I expect a lot of you are used to that but it was a real wow moment for me when opening the hamper.
I love my new bag, it really is just lovely and the colour matches the new pink purse tassels key chain I also received from deLacy Online. The pink bobbly bit is ridiculously soft.
On the right of the photo is a box of sweets from Mr Big Tops – sweets in the post, there’s a brilliant idea! The perfect gift to send for Mother’s Day or at any other time of the year when you need to send something via the post, but don’t fancy the norm of flowers or chocolates. You can see from the contents of the bowl above, that you get a decent selection and lots of them.
The bowl itself and the photoframe – which I’ve added one of my favourite old photos of the boys to – are from a company called Sass and Belle who have one of the most beautiful gift sites I’ve seen. I may have to pop on to Si’s laptop and bookmark them for his attention in future ;)
I love the bowl and the photo frame, both perfect gifts for any Mum and really appreciated by this one.
I really want to say thank you so much to all the companies who got involved with the hamper and to the wonderful Jessica-Jane at Social Network Solutions who put all the hampers for myself and the other bloggers together. I was having a really rubbish week with one thing and another before my hamper arrived, and it really made my week…. month…year ;)
If you are on Instagram, search #SNShamper and you’ll be able to have a quick nose at what was in the other bloggers’ hampers, they’ll be going up all week.
*I was sent all of the items above for the purpose of this post, but all thoughts are my own and as always honest*
