Things I Have Liked and Loved May 2017

May has been a bit of an odd month for me, full of so many good things but with rather a lot of stress too. However as always, this post is only about the good bits. Here is what I have liked and loved in May 2017.

Walking Cornwall

I’ve been doing a sponsored charity walk for Type 1 Diabetes this month and although my poor feet are constantly blistered, I’ve loved doing it. It feels great to be doing something proactive like this and the exercise has been so good for me. Not only that, but I’ve been to so many beautiful places because of it, that usually I may have been too lazy to get to.

Crealy

We went glamping at Crealy in Devon and it was a really lovely break. We’ve been away a ridiculous amount this year already, but amazingly have nothing else booked in now.

Sunshine

Several of my walks have been very soggy affairs, which has meant both myself and my walking buddies – Si or his Mum or the boys when I can rope them in, have been a bit wet at times. However, luckily so many of the days have been beautifully sunny and it has really added to the appreciation of the views whilst walking.

One on One Time

Harley’s school year all went on camp this week, with only a few people left behind. He really didn’t want to go as he found the last camp a bit boring. The school usually put on lots of days out and fun activities for the ones left behind, but this year they had nothing planned that we were informed of. So I was a bit naughty and took him out for the week – received an unauthorised absence slip, but it was so worth it.

We have had such a good week with loads of days out and we had some very rare one on one time. It’s been wonderful and I’m looking forward to doing similar with Fin later in the year when the boys have slightly different school holidays.

Today we went to the arcade and played on the 2p machines in Newquay, walked near to the beach, went to the Blue Reef Aquarium and ended up at Newquay Zoo for the second time this week.

Weight loss

I’m due to weigh in again on Monday, so I’m not sure of my complete weight loss for this month, but at my last weigh in it was 6 lbs lost so far. I’ve been testing out LighterLife Fast and I think the 5:2 diet could be the one for me.

Spending time with just Si

My walking has brought something else positive this month. Si and I have had a lot more time just the two of us on some long walks and it has been really good for us I think. A chance to talk without the distraction of laptops, the television or either of us falling asleep on the sofa. I’ve loved walking and chatting to him … and issuing him with lots of curse words for forcing me to walk up some pretty ridiculous hills ha!

Overall it really has been such a great month. What did you like and love about your May?

The views on your walks are amazing, I watch on IG completely jealous. It’s great that the walks have meant more time to talk, its so easy to just sit on the sofa and not talk. I know Andy and I are guilty of this. We love to take the girls out for walks, but usually one of us is chasing Holly. x

Ahh I’m glad you’ve had a fun month. Your photos are incredible, makes me want to get to the beach! We are beach bound next week thankfully, it can’t come soon enough! Well done with all the walking and the weightloss, I need to get onto that too!

Beautiful photos, you live in such a lovely part of the country. I love when I get one to one time with my children, it sounds like you had a lovely week with Harley. That campsite looks amazing, love the zebra statue. I hope June is less stressful for you xx

Those photos are stunning Stevie, such glorious blue skies! And well done you on the weight loss, I’ve heard good things about the 5:2 diet, I’m just not sure I could do it, I think I would spend every minute of the fast days thinking about food! x

It sounds like a lovely month, we have also been on quite a few adventures this year, I love just packing up the car and getting away from it all. Well done on the charity walk lovely – you should be very proud of yourself. Thanks for hosting #likedandloved

Wow, I wish you the best luck :) 10,000 steps is a lot, even if it is the recommended amount. I am in the same boat as you, lucky if I get 4000 most days. How are you doing with this?
