Time for my favourite post of the month! I love looking back over the month and reminding myself of all the things that I’ve Liked and Loved this month. October has been a very good month for me, for several reasons, read on below to see why.
The Beach – With the unseasonally warm weather at the beginning of the month, we have had a lot of visits to the beach, actually more than we did in the Summer holidays! I especially loved the night when we went to Pentewan beach straight after school for a picnic tea and a play in the stream.
Helping out on a school trip – This was actually to Pentewan as well, and was with Harley’s class. I loved walking in the woods and to the beach with all the children, and Harley was so pleased that I came with them. They were all so well behaved, and I really enjoyed helping with sandcastles and mini raft making.
Freelance writing – I’ve been getting a few requests lately, to write for other people’s websites which I take as a huge compliment. I tend to add links to my work elsewhere on my blog in the Guest Posts and Media Mentions section, so that anyone who wants to can read what I’ve been up to else where. I’m definitely hoping to keep doing freelance writing, as I enjoy trying different things with it.
Seeing Lisa, Trev and Jack – The Lisa I’m referring to is Lisa who writes The Love of A Captain blog. Her fiance and Si grew up on the same road as children and have been friends for years, which means I’ve gotten to meet the lovely Lisa several times now. Their baby boy Jack is a real cutie, and we loved seeing them for a weekend this month.
Having my hair cut – This is a normal occurance for most people, but usually I cut my own hair, as I find it hard to trust hairdressers. The hairdresser this time did a great job with the cut, just a shame that with the dye I ended up with a dyed forehead… definitely still on the hunt for a decent hairdresser, but I loved the cut and the head massage.
Half Term – Okay so officially our half term doesn’t start until Monday, but I’m just loving the fact that I have my boys home for over a week now. The boys actually have the Monday afterwards off as well, so we’ll be having a long weekend holiday away. So I’ll get more time with all three of my ‘boys’.
My reindeer – I absolutely love Christmas, and all the gorgeous stuff that I’m seeing in the shops at the moment. I have a weakness for pretty things, and I couldn’t resist buying myself a glittery reindeer the other day. I know he’s meant for Christmas, but I couldn’t bring myself to put him away, so he has pride of place in our dining room already.
Charity Quiz – We went to a quiz in aid of Children’s Hospice Southwest and had a great evening. Not only did we get to help out an amazing charity, but we also spent the whole evening laughing. It also involved getting strawberry cider spilt over us, getting a bit tipsy, and someone drinking beer out of a teapot – don’t ask ha!
Puppies – We haven’t gotten ourselves dogs, we really wouldn’t have the time to be fair to even one dog, but I got to see some puppies! We went to a friend’s barbecue and they had puppies there that were only two weeks old and so cute, that I couldn’t stop watching them.
What have you liked and loved this month?
