This Year it’s A Pug’s Christmas with Vision Direct

With all the brilliant Christmas adverts around at the moment, I really didn’t think that they could be topped. That was until I saw Vision Direct‘s special online video A Pug’s Christmas.

I’ll be honest and admit I am a complete sucker for a cute pug, there is just something so cute about how grumpy they always look, and one in a hat or clothes often has me laughing loudly. So one in a jumper and glasses to me, is just the cutest thing. I mean how cute is this pug from the Vision Direct video?

A Pug's Christmas

I challenge anyone not to smile watching the video below.

In case you haven’t heard of Vision Direct before (although I doubt that very much) they are Europe’s largest online contact lens supplier. They actually¬†stock over 1 million lenses from world leading brands, including Focus Dailies, Air Optix and Acuvue Moist.

Vision Direct is dedicated to making the purchase of contact lenses easy, quick and affordable, with free, fast delivery and seven days a week customer support, as well savings of up to 42% against high street opticians.

I have worn glasses for driving and occasional wear for years, and luckily I love my glasses, as for the last year I have had to wear them all the time. It has taken some getting used to, and at times I have felt like the little pug in the video. The problem with glasses, is that when you are out in the rain, you can’t see anything as they get wet. When you go inside somewhere warm when it’s cold or wet outside, glasses steam up and you can’t see.

If your children forget you have glasses on when they decide to jump on you for a cuddle, your nose really feels the brunt of it. I am actually close to considering contact lenses myself, although for now I am quite liking the geek look of my big frames. We’ll see how much more my poor nose can take though! I may have to resist the urge to buy a pug, but please any friends or family, can you buy one for me to play with at yours?

In the Vision Direct video above, I love what a warm festive heartfelt video it is, with a little bit of comedy thrown in. The little boy in it is a real contender for the cuteness crown off of the pug. I’m also happy that little Gizmo got his contact lenses in time for Christmas (with Vision Direct’s super fast next day delivery service) so that he could see all his little pug presents, I so hope they included some cute clothes or antlers!

Did you enjoy the video, and do you have the same affection for pugs as I do?

Stevie x

LOVE it!! Poor Pug hasn’t got a nose to balance his glasses on has he so of course contacts would be better for him!

I love pugs. My big lad wants us to get one. But 2 dogs is maybe a bit too much. I am very tempted though! In the last year I have also started wearing glasses all the time it does take some getting used to but I like them now. I’m rocking the geek look! #picknmix

Ah I love pug! What a fab advert! I used to wear glasses and lenses when I was younger but I had laser eye surgery at 25 so I don’t need them anymore! It was the best decision I ever made but I secretly miss wearing my geek glasses sometimes if I’m honest :) #PickNMix

Ah what a cute video! I love Christmas ads, they make me even more excited for this magical time of year! I used to wear contacts all of the time but have gotten out of the habit & wear glasses. I keep meaning to go in for a contact exam & get back them! Thanks so much for hosting x

Christmas ads are the best ones for definite :)

Haha pugs are always amusing, even without glasses! The glasses suit it though. Ages ago, I was hysterical when I saw a lady at the park with a really overweight pug, evidently called Winston. She spent ages yelling at it, ‘Quick! Come here, Winston! Quick! Here, Winston! Quick, quick!’, while the dog just sat and stared at her. It really amused me, I was just thinking, ‘You have a fat pug, you called it Winston, and you are expecting speed? That may be a little optimistic!’ #picknmix

    • 4 December 2015 / 2:23 pm

Ha ha bless poor Winston!Their legs are that teeny I can;t imagine how a chubby one would cope bless

Aww the advert is so cute, I was a bit worried about the pug for a minute there! I have worn glasses since I was 3 months old (poor me!) and have been wearing contacts since I was a teenager, I couldn’t cope wearing my glasses every day. Although, I have some big geeky frames now and I actually quite like wearing them. I get all my stuff from Specsavers, may have a look and see if vision direct is cheaper. If you get a pug can I come and play with it? :) xx #picknmix

Simon would go mental if I came home with a pug ;) as cute as they are, dogs are a big tie and commitment. I love my big geek specs too, just not so much when it’s raining and I can’t see anything ;)

I am a sucker for cute dog pics, I have a golden retriever, I don’t think he would allow me to take a picture of him.:) BTW, I saw your post at #picknmix. Joe

Me too, especially dogs in clothes although if I had a dog I would never do that to them ha!

Ahh that’s such a cute advert, it’s nice when a retailer thinks outside the box when creating their adverts, makes people engage more.
I should have a look at Vision Direct when I order my next lot of contacts. #picknmix

I love the Christmas adverts, everyone puts in so much more effort and they are more likely to be cute which gets my vote ;)

Aww I love a Christmas advert and that pug is so cute, even cuter with glasses. I’m a speccy wearer, never tried contact lenses. Might be nice to give them a go, sometimes glasses can be annoying.

    • 4 December 2015 / 11:22 pm

Mine annoy me a bit at this time of year hen they steam up or get soaked a lot!

I can totally relate the downside of wearing glasses, in the middle of the rain and when it steam up… but still, I love wearing glasses. Yep, I love the video, isn’t he just cute and adorable?! lol Lovely post! #PicknMix

I love pugs. Now that my kids have grown up, I am increasingly having to fight the urge to buy one to mother and dress up in cute little outfits. #Picknmix

I have worn contacts for years now, I think I started wearing them was I was 18. I always hated wearing glasses and as soon as I was earning my own money it was the first thing I did. They are a bit hard to get used to the first couple of weeks but after that it’s easy, I don’t even need a mirror anymore. I have also used Vision Direct too but in the end I went back to specsavers as you get better care and they can check the contacts are fitting right, not causing inflammation etc… #PicknMix

My sister has worn contacts for years and my Mum, I keep considering it so who knows I might take the leap eventually ;)
