This post is a quick run down of what’s on today in Cornwall for Summer events all over the county. I will be adding to this whenever I spy something that I think my readers may enjoy, so keep checking back for updates and ideas of places to go and things to do!

Saturday 20th June – Armed Forces Day in Torpoint with a parade, entertainment and fireworks.
Saturday 20th June and Sunday 21st June – Dads and Grandads can have free entry to Lappa Valley Steam Railway near Newquay this weekend, when accompanying a full paying adult or child.
Friday 26th June til Sunday 28th June – GWR Polo on the beach at Watergate Bay. Free entry to watch and free entertainment, tickets need to be booked for the party on the Saturday night though.
Sunday 28th June – Family Fun Day 10am til 4pm, as part of St Austell Feast Week. In the town centre there will be local radio station Pirate FM, bouncy castle, face painting, magic show and much more.
Sunday 28th June – Padstow Lifeboat Harbour Day from 1.30pm, with stalls and pictures, and the chance to see the lifeboat and meet the crew.
Saturday 27th June – Bodmin Hospital Fete from 2pm at Bodmin Hospital. Family dog show, miniature performing stallion, zumba dancers, maypole dancers, lazer tag, party karts, donkey cart rides, bouncy castle, stalls, food and much more.
Sunday 2nd July – Children’s Hospice Curnow Concert at Wadebridge school hall PL27 6BU 7pm – 10pm you can buy tickets from the CHSW shop in Wadebridge.
Sunday 5th July – Regatta Day at Trenance boating lake and Trenance Cottages Teddy bears picnic 11am til 4pm as part of Newquay Carnival Week. Visit the Carnival website for more information and more events on all week.
Saturday 11th July – Newquay Carnival Parade, starting from the Hotel Bristol at 6pm and finishing up at The Fort.
Sunday 12th July – Mr Stink is on at the Penlee Park Theatre in Penzance from 6.30pm, tickets need to be bought in advance.
Monday 13th July – Stithians Show from 8am. There will be agricultural competitions, vintage and classic cars, motorbikes, craft stalls, various other stalls, music, food and more.
Friday 17th July til Sunday 19th July – The Old Ale House in Truro has a Food & Music Festival on with food (they have a River Cottage menu that I can vouch for as being delicious!), music in the evenings and locally brewed ales. Betty Stogs will be around over the weekend as well. Pop to the Old Ale House’s website for information on times and more.
Saturday 18th July – The Kernow King and the National Trust are hosting 7 nations beach rugby tournament at Mounts Bay from 11am til 5pm, this is a free event with St Michael’s Mount as a backdrop.
Saturday 18th July – The Hub radio station (106.1FM) are putting on a barn dance with music, refreshments, prize raffle and more at Mevagissey Jubilee Hall, you can buy tickets at St Austell or Truro Tourist Information Centres or buy them online.
Sunday 26th July – Marazion Carnival from 12pm til 6pm. The carnival theme this year is myths and fairytales, and there’s a lot going on including stalls, parade, music, Cornwall’s first chilli eating competition, birds of prey, mini beasts, magician, bouncy castles and a lot more.
Sunday 26th July – Trewithen Classic Cars and Country Fayre at Trewithen Gardens, Probus, 11am til 4pm. Over 100 classic cars, police dog handling team, fun dog show, archery, craft stalls, food, raffle, live music, face painting and more. This is to raise money for Marie Curie who provide nursing care to terminally ill people across Cornwall. £5 entry per person, under 16’s free.
Tuesday 28th July – The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are at Crealy near Wadebridge for meet and greets during the day.
Tuesday 28th July – It’s Cornish Day from 10am til late at Land’s End with fireworks late in the evening, music, Cornish crafts, shopping, food, unbeatable views and more.
Wednesday 29th July – Penlee Park Theatre in Penzance is host to The sorcerer’s apprentice (see link on Mr Stink 12th July).
Thursday 30th July – RNAS Culdrose holds it’s annual Air Day at the base near Helston. There are different flying shows, stalls, food, fairground games and more to enjoy. My advice though is bring a fold down chair if you can, as they charge you to sit in the stands and if the grass is wet, it’ll be a long stand.
Friday 31st July til Sunday 2nd August – Trereife Summer Festival is on at Trereife Country House near Penzance, with Cornish wrestling, children’s entertainment, music, stalls, and much more from 10am til 4pm.
Saturday 1st August – Fowey Fete at Fowey Primary School from 12pm til 4.30pm in aid of Fowey Hospital and Cornwall Hospice Care. Hog roast, craft and other stalls, bouncy castle, cream teas, raffle and more.
Sunday 2nd August – Family Fun Day at Porthpean Outdoor Education Centre in aid of Children’s Hospice Southwest Starts 10.30am
Tuesday 4th August – The brilliant Titan the Robot will be at Crealy near Wadebridge for the day. We saw him at the Royal Cornwall Show and he was very funny.
Sunday 9th August – Newquay RNLI Lifeboat day at Newquay Harbour
Wednesday 12th August – Flambards in Helston will be open late with entertainment and fireworks.
Friday 14th August to Sunday 16th August – There is a Cornish Steam and Country fair at Stithians. There’s a food marquee, evening entertainment, steam engines, vintage vehicles, animals, shows and lots more family fun. You can pop to the Cornish Steam and Country fair website for more information.
Saturday 15th August – Carnival Parade in Bude, more information on this and other events through the day can be found at the carnival website.
Tuesday 18th August and Wednesday 19th August – The British Fireworks Championships will be returning to Plymouth (just outside of Cornwall!) again. We try to go to this every year as it’s brilliant, there’s a fairground, loads of food and the largest amount of fireworks I’ve ever seen anywhere. Well worth a visit – even if it’s not quite in Cornwall!
Wednesday 19th August – Flambards in Helston will be open late again with entertainment and fireworks.
Thursday 20th August – It’s Pirate Day at Land’s End with pirates, treasure hunting and fireworks once it gets dark.
Friday 21st August and Saturday 22nd August – You can watch Ben and Holly at the Hall For Cornwall with daytime performances perfect for the smaller children this is bound to appeal to. Visit the Hall For Cornwall to book your tickets and check times.
Wednesday 26th August – Flambards in Helston will be open late with entertainment and fireworks for the last night.

Trelissick (National Trust) Craft workshops for children for £3.50 a ticket various dates, check out the National Trust website for more information.
